This was easily legit. No doubt about it. Both sides gave all their power, but in the end, the Potara's slight advantage clutched Vegito a win.

Goku has Plot Armor, while Vegeta has Saiyan Armor.

I mean, the reason kai says the potara is better is that it's more efficient. The potara doesn't have to do a dance and you can be fused with anyone no matter who it is though the draw back is it maybe more efficient but it's more so efficient if your a kai or go making the power last forever but if your a mortal the power last for only an hour then you diffuse unless you have power like goku and vegeta it's shortend to less than an hour depending on how much power is generated. In super sayian blue it was unstable and only lasted 40 minutes. I'm sure if it was even more power like a mastered ui goku and ultra ego vegeta the time limit could be shorted even more than 40 minutes. Now the fusion dance may not be the most efficient being you have to do a dance which leaves you vulnerable against a foe with no back up or if the foe is too strong for your back up to stall long enough for you to do the dance and if you mess up you got to wait 30 minutes to do so again if you can even manage that. It can't be done with just anyone either and the power has to be the same meaning the stronger partner has to lower their power level to match the other (as trunks did with goten). Still, the fusion dance should be by far stronger. The potara only takes the 2 power levels and adds them together but the fusion dance not only merges the 2 power levels but significantly magnifies them. Plus the cap is set to 30 minutes where the potara if the person is crazy strong they could make the time limit shorter when the fusion is set to 30 no matter how strong the 2 individuals are, but excluding time if you look at the fights vegito blue vs potara fused zamasu clash couldn't even break time where as gogeta vs broly broke through time with their clash and gogeta wasn't even in blue yet he was only in SUPER SAYIAN.. now YES its hard to scale that since goku and vegeta then were not as powerful fighting zamasu as they were against broly, which is after the tournament of power if you still look at what they do the fusion dance is still more powerful fusion. The potara only adds the too together but the dance magnifies it, so even if you count them as strong as they were after the tournament of power wouldn't matter. Let's say for example their power up to the current ark for both of them is a power level of 500 mil at base level, 1 billion at full power and 2 billion if their really pissed off (being the sayian transformation gets stronger and power can increase from anger as well) the potara fusion will only add/merge their 2 powers together meaning their base level cap would be 1 billion, at full power it be 2 billion, and if pissed off it would only increase to 4 billion. Now the fusion dance example. It would merge their power together and magnify it. And there's no telling how many times it's multiplied. It can be magnified times 2 or 5x or 10 etc, but for the sake of this example, let's just use the lowest one at 2x. So their base power would be capped at 2 billion instead of 1, their full power would be 4 billion instead of 2, and if their pissed off it would rise to 8 billion instead of 4 and that's just at the lowest magnification if it just doubles it. If the the power magnification is more than 2x it be rediculous. So I say gogeta should have one. If your also speaking in stand point of seriousness, gogeta in canon is the more serious one. He only played around in non canon of gt, but every time in Canon gogeta fought seriously to beat his opponent where as vegito was always overconfident. In fusion reborn he didn't waste time ending janemba and in broly he may have showed overconfidence since he either knew he would win or because he was winning, but he still fought to win where as vegito tool overconfidence to the next level exhausting his time well atleast he did when he fought zamasu that overconfidence and allowing himself to be hit at times allowed the time to run out. Now vs super buu was simular since it even caused him to be turned into candy and he even let himself be beat up more times also wasting time. The only difference is it may have ran out but it was the full our and it was after a serious attempt to allow himself to be absorbed to save trunks goten gohan and piccolo who was absorbed but before that he was so overconfident just wasted time I'm just sayian. Lol, but yeah gogeta should be far stronger

Vegeta is in charge on Gogeta, NOT on Vegito.There are various proofs that prove what I say: for example, Vegito fights more freely, Gogeta fights more rigidly, in fact, Vegito thinks that fighting is a sort of game, of entertainment, just like Goku; on the contrary, Gogeta sees the battle as something serious, he MUST win. Of course there have been occasions where the situations have reversed, just consider when Gogeta in Dragon Ball GT makes fun of Omega Shenron and pretends to use the Kamehameha together with his clones or when Vegito prepares to throw the Final Kamehameha against Fused Zamasu and then teleports to strike the god with the iconic line "Be perfect in Hell!" Despite this we must remember that Gogeta and Vegito are created by the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, so it is obvious that in some moments one takes over the other in terms of behavior, BUT, from what we have seen so far, I can say that Gogeta is controlled for most of the time by Vegeta (just look at the fight against Janemba and Broly and we realize that Gogeta is much more serious and violent than the fusion with the Potara earrings), while Vegito is controlled for the most of the time by Goku (just look at the fight with Buuhan and Zamasu and we realize that Vegito thinks more about having fun than killing the enemy).

While many fans would like the Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego, but to use them you need to be in a certain mindset and 100% committed to that mindset for either one, can't half ass that shit. Gogeta vs Vegito made by me: The fight starts by Gogeta, and Vegito meeting, Vegito ask:"How about we settle this in a deathmatch?" (Gogeta nods his head). (Gogeta glares menacingly) Gogeta starts putting in more effort, and now their tied. Vegito says:"Lets kick it up a notch". (Transforms to SSJB), (Gogeta transforms into SSJ4). Gogeta finally speaks: "Damn I haven't used this form since the 2000s", Vegito replies:So now you finally talk. (Gogeta laughs, and makes 5 clones of himself), 2 of them fly towards Vegito, while the other clones were preparing a "Big Bang Kamehameha", they fire, and the 2 clones are rushing towards Vegito, BUT! Vegito uses his ki sword to slice all the clones. From the top the real Gogeta down kicks Vegito,Vegito gets up and (teases Gogeta a bit) "saying that didn't hurt"! Now (Gogeta's pissed), Vegito fires a huge ball of ki towards Gogeta, but Gogeta kick it back, Vegito's laughing at him like: "Dumbass my own attacks can't hurt me" but when the blast hit Vegito (it actually hurt). Vegito says: IT'S TIME TO END THIS! (Vegito charges up a "Final Kamehameha"), (Gogeta charges up a "Big Bang Kamehameha"). The beams fired, and clashed, (Vegito's was pushing Gogeta's blast back), but Gogeta did something (Vegito wasn't expecting). Gogeta cloned himself (10 times), (5 clones took over the Big Bang Kamehameha),the other five rushed to Vegito, Vegito used 1 hand to slice the clones with his ki sword.Then Gogeta charges up a spirit bomb, "Vegito actually gets worried".
