In GT he’s gone full Earthling but it also looks like Earthling attire in the “shape” of his form Saiyan battle armor. He even cuts his hair (and mustache) which does pretty look good (but varies depending on the angle and artstyle). He even calls himself an Earthling with a Saiyan’s pride, fully completing his transformation.

@@baloogathewale I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with that. In terms of Vegeta? The armor thing isn't perfect but I can understand. But Vegeta did not regress in terms of his character at all in DBS. The Moro Arc especially shows this when Vegeta saves a Namekian child from Moro and shows Vegeta is remorseful for his past actions.

I’d like to imagine that Vegeta keeps his gloves specifically because his pride as a saiyan is representative of what a saiyan can do, which is mainly combat. With his clothes his accepts his role as a resident of earth, but his gloves say that he still FIGHTS like a saiyan

With how "spur of the moment" Toriyama is, there's no way in hell this was intentional. Toriyama probably just got tired of drawing his armor and went for simple armor, then simple clothing, then thought "Oh, Vegeta will be old by the end of Z, what do old people wear? I know, sweatpants!"

The reason why he didnt wear armor in the buu saga was because the tournament didnt allow any armor. This is why Gohan uses a bandana and glasses as the great saiyaman instesd of the helmet

Considering the weight of Piccolo's shoulder pads, I'm surprised they're not considered armour. That said, Vegeta having a special version of his blue undersuit without sleeves *just* for a single tournament seems silly. Considering he wasn't depicted in his armour in pretty much anything official for the time around or after the Boo arc until 2008, and that since this outfit has only been used as a training outfit (which it wasn't depicted as in the Boo arc), it's easy to draw the symbolic conclusions from the context.

Toriyama didn't have to ban armor for the tournament, why would he if not to tell this story visually? There was no rule against it in any of the previous tournaments. In universe it's because of the rule, but the writing reason is to show Vegeta's growth as a character

You could also say that the armor is an allegory for him putting up emotional walls. He starts off as a proud prince, refusing to admit weakness or emotion. After his death on Namek and his growth as a person, he loses the armor and lets people see his true self -- eventually.

Actually him wearing no armor in buu saga is because the world tournament prohibit extra protection for participant thus causing gohan to also get rid of the saiyaman helmet and switch to sunglasses and rags to stay undercover

I love how GT made Vegeta's clothe's Earthling clothes but sort of inspired by Saiyan armour. The clothes are tight (like Vegeta's blue spandex) with gloves and boots. The boots even have the yellow cone bit at the tip of the toe part where it would be on Saiyan boots (the yellow part with black lines through it, kinda like a cone shape). I also love GT's finalization of Vegeta's character, in the Buu saga he makes the speech about how Goku is the best and he doesn't want to surpass him now (something like that) and in GT he is the same. He was also the one who recommended fusion against Omega, something he'd never do which I feel represents his character growth that he doesn't care about surpassing Goku and being the best.

I see his armor as a symbol of his confidence. Hes always most confident when he has it on. Then in the buu saga he wasnt as cocky and showed off his true hatred for not being able to beat goku (him no longer wearing armor and showing whats on the inside). idk thats how i see it
