As with Spenser Sotelo and now Lukas, Chris shows us how these guys don't just do it without knowing anything at all. They KNOW what their doing to not hurt themselves. It's really an eye opener for me. Thanks, Chris. And Lukas. Oh, and Spenser.

@@chrisliepe I joined the warm-ups and watched them all today, I wasn't able to try them but I did have a question about the buzzer technique? By doing the buzzer is the feeling you get from it something you want to have all the time, or leaning into it rather while your singing different notes and things? Is this something you can turn on whenever you want sorta like Shawn Morgan or Kurt or Chris? If so this is what I'm really trying to learn the most, while also doing high notes like 90s stuff. Thanks man you always have new techniques I can barely keep up lol.

I'm a voice actor, and screaming can really trash my voice. There are times I want to go for intensity, but I just end up losing all my air in a loud burst. These techniques will come in handy next time I have to do some sustained battle cries, or death yells.

I've been screaming for about 15 years, certainly the unsafe way, letting all out. I've watched several vids and techniques but never really got them. And here's the buzzard technique that totally made sense to me and gave instant results. No other technique worked for me. Kudos to Lukas!

I took 6 lessons with Lukas and it completely changed how I sing and scream for the better, I'm no able to do things I never had before and in a healthy way. And I took those lessons after a music degree, in multiple choirs and bands, and learning from an individual with a Master degree in vocal performance and coaching, and another individual who was a grammy winning singer. Lukas is the shit.

The buzzer sound sounds like a high compressed larynx Tuvan throat-singing which is a synchronized vibration pattern on the false vocal cords and then he seemed to switch back on vocal cords distortion. Switching from false cords distortion to vocal cords distortion (or Kargyraa to fry-based screaming) is usually fairly easy because the level of compression in both is fairly the same. But it might be misleading if we don't proper address where the distortion is coming from. Which is why throat-singing is an amazing gateway to extreme voices but I have already said that in your video, right?

Love it...these deep dives into the finer details of singing. Do you have a video or general insights/thoughts on overall health/fitness on vocal performance/recovery/maintenance? I do covers gigs a couple/few/several times a week year round, solo and with bands at 3 hours at a time...usually back to back nights. Been heavily struggling with vocal maintenance and decline (and inflammation) and just keen to hear any wisdom on that front. I warm up religiously, am pretty damn mindful of what I eat and stay active, sing with IEM's, try to actively sing with decent technique and not strain/reach, but still cooked. Any thoughts/resources/recommendations/references are super appreciated. Love your stuff! Thanks man.

So his singing sound is really forward and bright, i also found some other rock teachers saying to get really forward especially with singing high notes. My thing is i struggle with getting that manly chest voice and my song teacher says to open my throat and lower my larynx a little bit, making me sound very classical. It helps to find my chest voice, but i do struggle to understand how to get a forward placement like this, like is the the soft pallate dropping to create more nasal resonamce or something?
