Walk around San Antonio Fire Department’s Velocity® Non-Walk-In HDR with Fire Engineer William Weeks and Technical Rescue Team Member Christopher Young. The department chose an extended front bumper, allowing them to store a 15,000 lb. winch that the rescue team can use on scene. Throughout the apparatus storage each discipline has its own compartment ensuring that every team member knows where equipment is. Hatch compartments provide the department space to carry wood and other supplies to scenes involving structural impairment.

I'm from San Antonio and i what to be a firefighter with SAFD, I can't wait to See Our New Heavy Rescue Truck on the streets of San Antonio, i really Hope the Rescue 51 gets a New Rig soon. The San Antonio Fire department Rocks Man. 🚒🚒🚒🚒

Man I want this absolute UNIT of a firefighter coming on my worst day. Wicked knowledgeable and able to break it down! Phenomenal presentation!!!! Wonderful truck for a wonderful department. Having worked with some SAFD guys at national training I've always been impressed!

They done their homework when building this rig!! It’s good that many departments are allowing crews to design and layout how their rigs are built rather than a person who hasn’t been riding apparatus for 15 years to make purchasing decisions.

First US Truck I see using those standplates down the compartments. Pretty standard here in Europe.

What a project! I generally don't like massive American rigs but what a piece of engineering is this! Interesting hearing about the clean-cab initiative and going "back" placing SCBAs not in the cab.
