Thanks for the great review! Quick question: I had purchased the Logitech G56 setup and had to return it because they designed that throttle grip assuming your hands were the same as Andre the Giant's LOL! For someone with small to medium hands, how would you rate the throttle grip with respect to being able to reach the controls on the throttle? I'm thinking about getting into DCS and I remember from WAY back in the day with the original Falcon 3 and Thrustmaster throttle and F-4 flightstick that being able to keep your hands on the controls and being able to manipulate them quickly and properly was key. For a dogfight, what do you think of them? The stick I'm sure is fine - it's the throttle itself I'm thinking about. Thank you!

The gimbal is the heart. It looks like a ball and socket, unlike levers of WinWing.

You can extend the stick by pressing the button on the left side of the palm rest.

Not sure if you’re aware but you can actually extend the control stick there’s a button you hold and you pull up on the stick and it extends; sure not by a great deal but definitely enough to make a difference

I honestly can’t wait to get mine and upgrade from the X 56, my x56 throttle friction wheel broke so I’m stuck with a overly stiff throttle, the mouse option on the turtle beach really intrigues me as I find it really irritating that I have to keep taking my hands of the HOTAS as I don’t have a lot of room at my station, so activating certain controls with the mouse will be wicked for DCS.

Hi there, I have been unable to get the throttle to work properly since I purchased this product. Everything I had in the past has been plug and play but this one is obviously different. When I use the throttle it just jumps from idle to full in one slight push, not physically but in the game, so maybe it has to do with the dead zone set up but I'm unable to figure it out. Any suggestions?

Seems like a great and ergonomic design. I like that with the throttle they went for a similar shape the F-18 has. I really like it in my TM TWCS. I currently have a VKB STECS, great thorttle, but it sits on my table and a little hight. I know VKB and same category porducts are designed to use with mounts, but I am in the middle of things, so buying mounts is postponed. Price seems fair so far, but only time will tell. What I mean by this is, in the past I owned TM T. flight for and T16000M + TWCS and now a VKB setup. Both TM products after time developed false inputs on the Z (twist) axis. The T16000M lasted longer than the f. flight obviously, but still for 200+ euros, it is a shame it gets malfunctioned. Luckily I also have pedals, so not a big deal to me (with the t. flight it was), but to those who don't have pedals, a stick malfunctioning right around the end of warranty expiring is a big deal. Especially since these are 200-400 euros. Hope this one is durable.

i have the x52pro , and i'm thinking of buying the flightdeck , but i'm confused by all the reviews , one guy said he was disappointed with the quality and that i should stick with the x52 , what do you think? I like all the settings and profiles you can make for each game but don't want a hotas that is worse than the x52pro but mine is very old and I wanted a new one,

Is there actually default profiles that work in MSFS? I've had one for a few weeks now and had to build everything by trial and error. Some things don't work as I thought they should, like using the stick scroll wheel for trim, and the back of the throttle scroll wheel for zoom. Overall, it's certainly a nice quality product, but I'm still disappointed with TBs support of it. I have two more days before the 30 day refund ends to determine whether I'll return it or not. Unfortunately, I'm just not sure. Unfortunately, the other higher end options are pretty darn expensive. This TB product offers a lot, but it's shortcomings need to be addressed (like the keypad issue you reported on).

"Fan wagon band wagon" lol.. OverREEESimulations, haha... I am very curious about this product. I am half tempted to put aside my Honeycomb for it, purely because the Honeycomb just takes up far too much space on the desk these days for me. Main thing holding me back are the issues you mentioned (btw, you may have to change the keybind in MSFS it self to like 'toggle' or whatever it is when you assign the key to get the desired function possibly?), the lack of profiles (although that is changed now it seems) and from other places I've heard the build quality is a bit iffy, like issues with the touch screen (although could be people conflating it with the issue you mentioned), gaps in the plastic moulding, foot pedals not working with it, etc. If it didn't have the issues (or that it could be confirmed they're non issues/fixed/anomalies) this would be an immediate purchase from me.

I just recently bought it and also have a Thrustmaster Warthog. It is nowhere near the build quality of a Warthog and in my experience is more like an X-56 or something like that. But what I am most interested in the Turtle Beach is its potential - particularly with the Touch Screen. It has more buttons, rotaries, POV's etc than you could ever need and has a touch screen that looks great and is pretty sensitive when touched. Also, Warthog needs some force to move that joystick around and sometimes feels like a bit of a fight - the Turtle Beach is just easy and smooth. The software is also excellent for the Turtle Beach and I imagine that will only get better too. Is it a Virpil or Warthog? No and I don't think anyone in their right mind would claim it is. But does it have potential, does it have loads of switches, buttons etc? Yes. I think this joystick has the potential to be really great and I absolutely don't regret paying £379 for it. Wont get rid of my Warthog though - as I love that too.

The Features Are Great, Except The Touch Pad Is More Of A Gimmick IMO. Why Not Invest In Game Touch Or Glass. At Least That Can Be Used For Other Games. But I've Read That The Build Quality Needs Improving (ie: Loose Knobs And Switches). I'm Going To Hold Out And See It Improves

Had mine about a month, and buttons have already stopped working. It is NOT holding up. and the customer support on Chat will flat out tell you that they're not tech support and you have to submit a ticket and wait for a response on any "technical issues"... They took a long time to get back to me with the first problem. and I still haven't heard back on my latest batch of issues. I would NOT recommend this... it will not hold up and the support is VERY slow.

The inability to PROGRAM the touchscreen to send specific keystrokes (ie: CTRL-P or ALT-G) makes it basically useless. Combined with the limitation of only THREE screens total, what a shame. The HOTAS has so much going for it, but these issues are a killer. I'm not thrilled with the ball/socked joystick, but I can lube that and make it work, but the lack of physical buttons on the throttle, and the horrid touchscreen limitations, so sad. :(

Others throttles don't even have a screen. It's just a bonus to add more buttons if you want without reaching for a keyboard for single button ones.

@@RokuX51 other throttles have buttons and switches you can use without having to look at it AND can each be programed for any keystroke or combined keystrokes. The screen is a gimmick done in the laziest and/or cheapest way possible, leaving the hardware closer to the toy category than sim hardware. I'm not some hardware snob (I use x56 for goodness sakes)...but for $400 I expect more. If you like it and it work for you thats great, enjoy you stuff. I just feel its was overpriced/hyped

$400 for a stick and throttle. IDK who you are, that's insanely overpriced. And companies don't even include force feedback in any of their sticks. This has been a complaint of mine for many years with the flightsim industry. Most everyone's products except Coranado and Microsoft's are overpriced.

A Virpil stick alone is $210, and then you need a base, which is $260, and thats not including a throttle, which costs $400 on its own. I agree that the flight sim industry is expensive, but for this price, its a decent deal.

The price is actually pretty good compared to the high end offerings out there like Virpil and WinWing. You can certainly buy cheaper options, but as they say, you get what you pay for. I've had numerous other less expensive products in the past, and they just don't last.

@@KPRflythere are a few manufacturers that make force feedback sticks and rudders so that can't be true, but they are very expensive
