E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡🚴 Would you consider an e-bike with a less powerful motor if it allowed the e-bike to be 20-30 lbs. lighter? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

I have a Babymaker 2 and it has same motor and battery . It is a great bike as I can ride it with motor off for 50% of the time . It is only single speed belt drive but I like to stand up and pedal . This Velotric would be a good bike if you want gears .

20-30lbs lighter from having a less powerful motor? How heavy do you think a full power motor is? There is no way you’re trimming 20-30lbs from just the motor.

@@leechavarie4675your baby maker does NOT have the same motor. The motor on the T1 is Velotrics own proprietary design, manufactured by them. Also, you bike has cadence sensor, not torque sensor like the T1.

I really want one of these I'm 6'4 so I would have to go with the large one but I'm concerned how low the handlebars sit

I had my fingerprint sensor take a dump on mine. And the app can be problematic so power assist was questionable until I replaced the sensor.

This bike looks, built for speed. Unlike the model T1 ST built for comfort and cruising. Went you unleash this 20mph to 25mph. Can you pedal up to 25mph for 10 to 15 minutes at least, without struggling? Hopefully we get true top speed (PAS)without straining. 🚴‍♀

The pedal assist modes can be a bit misleading because it's paired with a torque sensor. I have a T1 for several months now and it's actually a pretty fast ebike if you know what to do. If you put in minimal efforts, Eco or turbo mode will have very small differences. If you go all out in Eco mode vs turbo mode, this is when you'll clearly see how much more power turbo mode gives you. The torque sensor really does give you a lot of assist if you provide a lot of force on the pedals. This is very nice because you can stay in turbo and be able to ride smoothly and slowly if you don't put in a lot of effort without having to change pedal assist mode when you need to ride slowly. Then when you want to go fast, just put in more effort. You can also unlock this bike to get 25mph+ out of the assist as well.

How does it ride with no assist? Is it sluggish or heavy? My hope is to use it in group gravel rides where I’ll need a bit of assist on the hills to keep up with the group. On the flat sections I hope to go with no assist though.

@@jg769 It rides like a normal bike without any assist. It's the main reason why I got this ebike and why it is my favorite bike. I usually ride it without assist too. I'll only use it if I'm trying to get from A to B faster or crossing an intersection just to get out of the way quicker.

I'm 5-9.5, 140 and bought the. Medium frame when the bike was introduced and wish I'd purchased Large. As reviewers noted its an aggressive geometry so I added risers to adjust riding position as needed. Unlocking the motor to max of 25 mph improved my experience thru the power settings but hills in my neighborhood still too much for motor and a real battery killer. This has become my travel road bike fits on a standard bike rack and is really easy to get on and off due to weight. Recently added the range extender but having difficulty maintaining connection and bike has been shutting down during rides? My experience with the App has improved over time as Velocity suggested it would at introcuction

You must not have too many bumps that you have to go over. That would be hard on the body unless you have smooth driving.

I've had the same problem since attaching the range extender. Bluetooth disconnects and the only way I can get it to reconnect is to restart the phone. If I disconnect the cable that runs from the range extender to the bike everything works perfectly but I can't use the range extender. Have you contacted Velotric about this problem?

With same motor, battery and weight, I don't understand how the range can be that much greater on the T1 over the T1 ST. I can't think the tire size difference can have that much impact.

There are also some programming differences. The T1 ST's motor gives a bit more power than the T1 so it uses the battery faster.
@tonyjuliano1

The main difference is dual sided torque sensor on the T1, vs single sided on the ST.

Hello - if given the choice between the Velotric T1 and Ride1Up CF1 Racer, which would you recommend as far as power, range, sensor and rideability? Thanks!
@jg769
@jg769 2 ай бұрын
I was on the fence between those two and ultimately went with the Velotric T1 because it has a range up to 70 miles. The CF1 is much lighter which is awesome, but only has a range of 14-40 miles. That was the deciding factor for me.

@@jg769 Thanks! I went with the CF1 with the extender battery to get more range. I thought about T1 and putting on drop bars, but with the extra cost of set up, brakes, etc ... I figured it would be close to same $$ amount without headache of messing something up! I enjoy your videos - Keep it up!

@@ashufernandes7832 @jg769 also on the fence between these two as well i like the drop bars and the look of the cf1 better as a road bike but i like the find my features and the higher range of the t1 better.

I thought about getting a pedal assist but I ended up not. I need the exercise and if I can't get up that dang hill maybe I'll feel an achievement of sorts walking it

Yeah, which I'll gladly take at 3-5x less the price. Still, not exactly the same design or components though.
