This is cute, but it's not the "velvet" cat eye design. You can actually use any color of cat eye or magnetic gel, and apply it on top of any color you would like. This design is just doing a regular cat eye look. The velvet cat eye requires using the magnet and working with it, moving it all around the entire nail. By doing it all over the nail, and around every side, you'll get the full effect of the magnetic pieces. Doing it the way it is in the video, isn't getting everything out of your magnetic gel. It's still pretty though.

That's just general magnet usage on magnetic polish, not the "velvet" look. Its about flattening the reflection of shimmer and perhaps enhancing it by adding matte or frosted finish.

you do need to practice more with your magnet. move up and down from side to side quickly but not to quickly. (count 1 sec per up or down) for a short time of like 3 or 4 seconds per side till you're satisfied with the design ..also get a light source right on the nail to see what you're doing. Preferably right in front of your eyes and the nail. you're not getting the maximum out your cat eye this way. .. oh and try matte top coat on this design☺️

I seen if you put matt top coat on top of cat eye gel it looks even more like velvet

Oh, my when you first said that, I was thinking about like the velvet glue nails and I don’t even know if that ever actually trended, but I did fall victim to that one and every time I washed my hands it was the most disturbing feeling to have lingering wet fingernails 😂😂😂

This is not the “velvet” design. This is just regular cat eye. Also you should be using the magnet and curing each nail at a time. If you move to the next before curing the first the magnet WILL effect the first nail.

Why did you use 2 different silver cat eye nail polishes?

I thought they must've been adding a Matt topcoat but maybe I'm thinking of something else but this to me is just a regular magnetic nail design with coloured base instead of black like most people do. You need way more practice with cats magnetic polish.. And you did it wrong. That's not the velvet design so your video is false. Velvet design is the cats magnetic design is all over the nail not just the tad you showed.
