Mayu's voice is really the X factor for NEMOPHILA. Their sounds are heavy with twin technical guitarists SAKI and Hazuki both on 7 strings and always having so much fun on stage. SAKI is on the right side of the screen and also in NEMOPHILA audio track, the right channel is SAKI, left is Hazuki. The chemistry between Haraguchi-san and Tamu is the essence soul for their 'smooth-sailing' sound with insanely tight maneuvers throughout. They are new band formed by a group of 5 established reputable veteran musicians; and collectively SAKI + Tamu have over 25 years experience and both are considered 'royalties' in Japanese rock/metal scene for many years now.

this is some kind of supergroup, but also the real thing. what is also impressive, they are like a family. they all are awesome musicians. saki (with the "killer" guitar) and drummer tamu are already musicianlegends in japan. tamu is mother of two daughters, plays keyboards, bass, even guitar too and has the best smile. she really is so much fun and has a very entertaining YT channel too ( from the most excellent drumming over baking and cooking to "baby shark" and "ladybeard"). the band is young and still on the rise. check "banana song" and "life".

First guitar solo was Hazuki, and the second solo was Saki. When they are standing in line doing the backup vocals, Hazuki is at the far left, and Saki is at the far right.

Nemophila is pure 🔥🔥🔥 (as is Mayu’s hair in this video). Not all their songs are this heavy but they’re all fantastic. The contrast between this and the banana song will be fun. Subscribed for the Nemophila deep dive.

The name of the flower they are named after is pronounced "neh-MOFF-il-a," but the name of the band is pronounced "neh-mo-FEE-la." If you watch the live video of "Oiran" from the Naon no Yaon concert, the presenter (lead singer of Show-Ya, who sponsors the festival) says their name when she introduces them.

I saw you already did Lovebites and Band Maid... Have you ever listened to BabyMetal? They are probably the most innovative coming out of Japan, and all these Japanese bands got international exposure only after BabyMetal became viral :) Really good choices for this week! For next, I would recommend Raitei, Hypnosis, Oiran (but not the live at the studio, do the live at the festival NAON YAON 2021), and for the 4th you could pick another cover: they did Iron Maiden, BabyMetal, Maximum the Hormone, Linkin Park, X-Japan, etc...

Awesome reaction. Nemophila are one of my favorite metal bands from Japan. I just finished watching your reactions to Gimme Chocolate and BxMxC by Babymetal. Saki is a big Babymetal fan and Nemophila covered Babymetal's song Megitsune. You can find it on their YT channel. I recommend watching Babymetal's official music video first (though generally I'd recommend their live performances). I also recommend checking out Saki's other band, Mary's Blood. They recently went on indefinite hiatus, but they have a lot of greats songs worth checking out.

Awesome song. Nemophila is a close second to Lovebites for me. Mayu sounds like an alley cat that went Super-Sayan (Anime). The one thing I sometimes miss from Lovebites is the edgy aggressive vocals.

Don't be surprised that the band is new and they all work well together. Saki-san is a high-profile guitarist with an established career in Japan. More than 10 years of Mary's Blood and other works. (She plays in both bands) The only ones without band experimentation were Haraguchi-san (bass), and Mayu-san (vocals) who was 17 years old when he joined the band.

Wonderful taste sweetie, when they had just came into the scene with thier amazing covers no one wated to hear about them every time I'd bring it to the reactors attention and this was two years ago. During that time I was constantly pushing Lovebites, Nemophila, Mardelas, and Motion Device and boy did I get a lot hate from many. guess what I got the last laugh as Nemophila has grown to be loved by the same persons. Oh well it is what it is and to all their own taste!
