Simple trick for finding max but min :: just add all the values of no. of chocolates they have + no. of chocolates to be given then divided it by the number of observations. You will get the close answer.

Sir can we get different answer for this set of question as for Q.4 badminton(min) is 195. I equal them all to 180 then given 15 to each, left with 9 except badminton i have given 3,3,3 to other sports

sir what if in question 3 as we know a+b+c+d=123 since hockey=b+180 is highest among all four condition then making TT =c+156 equal to b+180 giving him 24 chocolates out of 123 we are left with 99 and now among 99 distributing equally among c and a+b+d together (as assuming either a&b or b&d or a&d equals 0 ) then in this case least number of student playing TT will be 230 where c=24+49+1=74 so c+156=230 As u have done in question that among 123 chocolates u have given 42 chocolates to c and rest 81 to b+a+d right but if all 81 is taken by any one among b or a or d then in this case playing TT max value being min is not possible...please sir explain this to me

One question. While tennis maximum but minimum distribution, they are not asking in the question that everyone else have to be equal. As in if we simply add 25 ( which if 1 more than difference between hockey and tennis), we will still get it. Please help

Well in that case, you're taking into consideration just the minimum possible value of TT, with no constraints on other sports. Takw for example, if you add 25 to 156, it will be 181, greater than next possible 180, correct. But you still have to distribute (123-25) = 98 students among rest of the 3 sports. And in no way, it can be done keeping 181 (students playing TT) as the highest, right ? Actually, I solved exactly like you before watching Sir's solution.

Nope, because it says it should be max but min like in your case you got 195 correct, but 196 can also be seen as a case that sir solved which truly defines 196 can be the max value whereas it holds the criteria to be the least value amongst the others.

I have a doubt in que 4. The answer to it could be 197 too Agreed, then there would be a tie in the last position but still it will be the least only. Why not 197 then?

Reading the question properly will make it clear. We need to make B the least among all other, which implies it should be unique. If all of them tie at 197, how do we determine which is the least of all? Tricky words but seeing them carefully makes things clearer

If tt> all, then c+156>d+167=>c min = d+12 Cmin= a+8 Cmin=b+15 Substituting in a+b+c+d=123 We get 4cm=158 and Cm= 39.5 And for min we get Cm=39. Plz clarify.
