Venti carved the land of Old Monstadt and changed the weather to be suitable for his people. He did all this with his raw wind power. Venti has eyes and ears wherever the wind blows. Sound is air vibrations, and what is air? It is anemo. He literally has ears everywhere. My point is Venti is really strong. He could have very easily flattened Signora and turned her into a meat pancake. Instead he chose to diss her with rhymes and poems to anger her. He didn't even choose to chase her down and take back his gnosis. He 1000% knew her plan, waited for her to come directly to him and then fully allowed her to take his gnosis. It is very clearly all an act. Venti is not stupid. He pretends to be a clown bard, but he literally is a god... Also, Signora kicked him right in the nuts and he fell over and the thing is... HE DOESN'T HAVE NUTS! His body is made of anemo magic.

Yeah and the thing that I think everyone forgets is uh Venti can literally just vanish with the winds lmao. Like that’s the very first thing we see him do after scaring away Dvalin. If he genuinely wanted to preserve the gnosis/his power, he could’ve just dipped.

Good to see that someone else notice that Venti is more than Ehe personality he always shows. He intelligent enough to bring Durin to Dragonspine because Durin blood is poisonous which made the poison unable to effect Mondstadt. I always thought that Venti give his Gnosis out of free will cause he still powerful enough without his gnosis. He also seems to foreshadowing that he knows the Abyss Prince/Princess because like Abyss Prince/Princess, he encouraged the traveller to continue their journey across the Teyvat and says they might learn something at the end of their journey.

Venti’s third taunt at Signora is very clever actually. He’s actually taunting both her and the Tsarita a bit. By acknowledging her smirk is “out of place” he’s placing a reminder that she is usually cold and emotionless. While also suggesting that she “stole it (the smirk) from your master’s face” is a tacit acknowledgment that he knows the Tsarita doesn’t smile anymore.

- The archons won the war and THEN became gods, they won the war WITHOUT the gnosis - Venti is the second oldest archon after Zhongli and 1 of the only 2 original archons that won the war. All of the other archons died and switched people at some point. There's a reason for that. - When the archons unleash their power (both lore and in game), the end of their hair lit up (same colour as their elemental power). This happened during venti's story quest ending and the archons' Es and Qs in game. Venti's hair didn't lit up when Señora took his gnosis, so does that mean that the power he used can't even compare to his elemental skill? - Remember after we woke up and Señora left with the gnosis, Barbara said its odd that her healing magic doesn't work on Venti. So maybe he faked the injuries? - Venti carved the land of Mond into what we know today. - He can literally vanish in the air like he first did when we first met him - Baal gave her gnosis to Yae Miko a long time ago but still have a lot of power - So in conclusion, the gnosis have nothing to do with the power of the archon, at least not a lot. The archons were at 8 and the gnosis bring them up to 10? Its more of a sign of power and connection to the Celestia.

Venti's reaction after losing his gnosis is interesting, he's actually a bit sad about that, I bet there's sentimental value on that, especially bcs gnosis is the power up that allow him to take form of his friend in the first place, but he just let it go, he doesn't want revenge or tell the traveler that it's so important they need to fetch it back. He just there taking his loss like a champ, heck, it seems like he just ready to accept mortality, just like zhongli (I assume they all immortal until directly killed) About the intention, he can let it go willingly he can just be surprised, either way that doesn't change much of his characters, he doesn't yearn for power nor a total idiot. He's just the god with much humane quality & flaw without trying to hide it, he have his silly side but with all lines & action he feels like the most loving archon among the 3 introduced, he whistleblow when he can, he show opinions about higher authority but also not treating the audience/traveler like a kid that need to be taught A B C. He became archon bcs other candidate refuse to do so not because he is qualified in governing & he took it because it gave him the chance to realize his friend's dream place to live Also the signora part, he doesn't need to be fully aware of signora's identity to roast her, because it apparent that fatui are haughty & do whatever they please because they borrow their god's power & directly act by tsaritsa's blessing. They are only hot shit bcs their god let them do whatever without repercussion (unlike zhongli that even when he is retired still punish people who broke contract)

Venti does have an act to do thing that aren't obvious but have greater meaning behind them so I agreed that he gave the Gnosis willingly. In addition it would've been odd for the God of freedom to be the only God so far to put up a fight against the Gnosis hunt seeing that fact that he doesn't like Celestia anyway

Venti is one of my favorite characters because of how complex he always seemed to me in the game. He plays himself up as a playful, alcohol-loving bard, but there are so many moments where he displays a sharper mind and an awareness that escapes so many other characters. I love how well you put this theory to words in a single video. I can't wait to see what other videos you have planned.

I have a more apt theory, that Venti didn't want to unleash his power while within Mondstadt City. As Zhongli has said (paraphrasing here) "The power of a god, no matter how little, is too much for mortals to handle", and the Gnosis has enough power (like a direct plug from Celestia) to appropriately defend himself, just that it can also destroy the surrounding area. Also, one note during the Prologue is this: Venti gave something divine to Dvalin, so divine that even the dragon exclaims "Is this the power of the Anemo Archon?"

Venti also not attacking could be because he doesn't want to cause Mondstadt to suffer damage from him actually fighting since we know the kind of terraforming he can do, coupled with what you said in the video, him giving the gnosis is just the better decision to make. Separately, but in the same vein, I think analyzing the Fatui's plan to get Raiden's gnosis could be a potential video idea. IMO from what we know so far there was zero chance of their plan working unless Raiden would have simply had Yae give it to them.

One thing, one of ventis lines: “ I know every song, even from the future” if he’s not lying about that (time being iffy in teyvat) then that would mean, as a bard, and knowing how well they can understand song meanings.. he has probably got a good idea of things yet to happen, maybe he knows the travelers fate, if someone made a ballad etc, maybe he knows if there’s a war in celestia etc

honestly, Venti is such a mysterious character and that's what makes me appreciate and love him.

I think, on a grander scale, Venti set this up for the Traveler to have another reason for their journey. It's not him playing himself, but rather Venti playing them with their own plans. When he met the traveler, he knew he already have an ace up his sleeve. I think the whole quest is just a play of some sort for him. He didn't do anything wrong to Rosalyne but he chose to let her have that feeling of superiority nevertheless since he knows her story. I'm having real sus vibes with Venti's "sleeping" time. Is sleeping the only way to avoid erosion? Lol. He doesn't seem to care about that one.

Might I be so bold as to assume Venti, just like Zhongli, willingly allowed his gnosis to be taken because both him and geo daddy actually are on board with Tsaritsa's plan involving the gnoses? EDIT: And, just to clarify, I'm not suggesting that the archons will all turn out to be villains or something, but quite the opposite. I think the narrative is setting the cryo archon to be a red herring antagonist, that will turn out to be an ally to the people of Teyvat against the true enemy: Celestia.

Venti the god of freedom not wanting to be tied down by celestia makes sense. Also everybody in the game underestimates him and so do many player imo. He is way more capable/knowledgeable than it seems! :)

For some reasons, I have always felt Venti is a mysterious character, even more than Zhongli…who is like a wise grandpa/ oldest god who honour contract above all else. But with Venti, even with his carefree and everything, it feels like he’s very deep. Thank you for this amazing work. Thought I was the only one with these thoughts, considering the community at large.

My theory for him pretending to be shocked about his gnosis taken away isn’t because of his views of the fatui but maybe he wanted to do an act since Celestia is watching. I like your theory about him letting Signora take a jab on him for her sake though. Not much evidence behind any of these theories but it’s fun to come up with some. I honestly believe Venti just doesn’t want Celestia to get upset if he willingly gave it away. Only because he has the queen piece. I know Ei just gave hers away and Zhongli made a contract for his. But idk maybe Venti has more influence with his ties

I’ve thought that Venti wanted his Gnosis to be taken for a while now, but this gave me justification for that theory. Is nice.

All the Archons we have met are interesting to dissect and theorize, but Venti is by far the most enigmatic. While he claims to be the weakest Archon, a weak hurricane is a hurricane all the same. Yet, he is one of the last two original Archons standing; the other being Morax. Venti appears diminutive and feminine while Morax *oozes* masculine charm and is one of the tallest characters yet released. They are polar opposites to one another and I think that having them as the archons of the Prologue and Chapter 1 is no accident. MiHoYo storytelling might be spotty in the short-term, but they can deliver on years-building payoffs and really shine in the long game. That said, Morax, historically, was a brute; a god of war, and was reigned in by his partner (I'm not even going to try to spell her name but you know who I mean) to be a overall more rounded (or perhaps slightly eroded?) and compassionate individual. To continue the contrasts between Geo and Anemo archons, that leaves Venti. I believe Venti may be by far the most intelligent of the archons, and not just due to potential insights from a possible connection to a god of Time. Venti is a schemer and trickster, as discussed. A Tom Sawyer of archons; conning others into doing his bidding, though not maliciously. To make a long post short, Venti would probably conclude that he can't know the Tsaritsa's true intentions at this time, but knew she was coming for him and would not relent, putting his people in the crossfire. So, he did what he does best. My belief is that he siphoned off most of the Gnosis' power into Dvalin when he was cured as both an apology and a way of keeping his people safe. The Gnosis may be still linked to Celestia and may still have enough power in it to not raise eyebrows, but might be lacking that critical little bit until Venti figures out her intentions. How does he plan on figuring out her real game? The Traveler. He knows they'll go to every region eventually and when we get there, he may be able to use us as a lens into her current state of mind. TL;DR: Venti smart boi, hide most of Gnosis power in skypet. Let Gnosis be captured (though it hurt more than he figured) and sent Traveler off on their way to eventually meet Tsaritsa and use us as a means of gauging her true intentions.

It seems kind of canon to me that Venti is stronger than he appears. He said he's the weakest archon, but he's still an archon and the Gnosis would be but a small fraction of his total power. I mean, someone who yeeted mountains from one place to another would be definitely capable of dealing with someone like Signora. Even if he doesn't have access to his full potential.

There's also this theory that he gives his gnosis to Dvalin when they're all flying back from old Mondstadt... In the cut scene it looks like he gives Dvalin some energy... People theorize that could be his gnosis and what was stolen is an empty shell What do u think about that?

i think it is also very possible that venti "put up a fight" in order to give up his gnosis without raising any alarms with celestia or handing the gnosis off to a successor.

While we know that the Archons took part in the destruction of Khanreiah, we never knew exactly what they did(did they kill the people? break things down? All we see are the floating cube things that we saw with the Unknown God) Seeing as how Celestia doesn't need the Archons to specifically deal with these things, I wonder what exactly the gods, and especially what Venti did, since in his first quest, we lay a spirit to rest, that might be it? He doesn't seem to be the violent one seeing as how he knew what mortal loss felt like (speaking of which, I don't think any of the Archons, other than Venti, have loss an important mortal, Zhongli lost other godly friends and so did Raiden...) I wonder what'll happen during Venti's second story quest.... Also I wanna know more about what happened during the Cataclysm, like what role was everyone playing. Also on a side note, what's your thoughts on the Pyro Abyss Lector, personally I think he was a pretty cool guy, great sense of humour, would fight him again

Does Mondstadt know that Barbatos fought Durin? Because Diluc says that the Anemo Archon has not been seen for a thousand years but Durin attacking Mondstadt was 500 years ago.

This makes me want another Venti story quest, I'm not sure what I would want from it, but Venti is a pretty interesting character that I want to know more of.

I mean its really easy deduction if you think about it, however the video is very well put together so it was a lot of fun to watch. Raiden basically ruled with power and she just one shot signora casually. While it's true that in terms of power she was a warrior before anything else while venti was a bard, but for an archon that cut an entire island in half, the power to evaporate signora with a swing is literally 0 with or without Gnosis. How would Venti ever lose WITH his Gnosis when Raiden's puppet is that strong without it? Makes no sense unless he gave up willingly. However it's interesting to me how Venti choose to gave up his Gnosis and Zhongli as well and Yae didn't really care about handing it over either.

6:20 - about how the Fatui know Barbatos' appearance ; wouldn't it be safe to assume that when the Tsaritsa and Barbatos were friends Venti used the same disguise? The Tsaritsa may have just assumed Barbatos still used the same Venti disguise and told La Signora.

My theory is that all the gnoses going to the Cryo Archo was agreed upon a long time ago and now they are putting on these plays of stealing them to get past some rules or restrictions of Celestia.

i have a few theories along these lines. one being that he gave dvalin the gnosis or maybe its power just after the fight with him. the other being that he actually still has the gnosis and what was stolen was a fake. specifically the fake theory stems from the plot point around the holy lyre and how it was made a key point that it wasn't fixed, and that it was an illusion, but yet much much later its revealed, i think during a main quest, that the illusion is still going and holding strong. which when you think about it, when venti lost the gnosis, it was because they were quickly fleeing the church before the illusion wore off and they got caught... but months and months later of even in game lore time, its apparently still fine? something doesn't add up, and out of all the gods i'm the most suspicious of venti and his motivations. specifically since the last power we see him use is an illusion made to deceive.

tbh I feel a major reason venti didn't just straight up give it over and instead had a verbal fight was bc he knew celestia was watching lol. He didn't start telling anyone anything until the gnosis was gone. He probably knew that just handing it over while she could still see him was a bad idea

Watching this... I think Venti knew Celestia was watching, and put up a front, so Celestia knows He hasn't chosen a side. Regardless if he did, He would still have ties with Celestia because "He put up a fight". And Venti being a step above everyone else, carefully planned his action to make Celestia think that there is still an Archon willing to Continue it's vision.

Personally, I think that Venti couldn't straight up give his gnosis away, or verbally acknowledge that he was okay with it being taken, due to his fear of Celestia. In the beginning, he never wanted to be the Anemo Archon, he just did it so that the power wouldn't fall into worse hands. It wouldn't surprise me if he's wanted to get rid of his gnosis this whole time. However, of course he doesn't want Celestia to know that, so it's better if it looks like he was overpowered and the gnosis stolen, rather than him appearing as a supporter of the Tsaritsa's goals.

Omg I love this theory! It makes a lot of sense to me, especiallly due to Venti's own nature. Lumine/Aether say it themselves on their line about Venti, that "he hides behind the facade of a bard but he's still a god" and I believe it resonates a lot with this theory.

it may be that archons don't keep in touch with each other but after sumeru's quest we definitely confirmed that venti is not the weakest archon. I think he lied and purposely made himself appeared weaker than he actually is. I love him and I think that alongside Zhongli he is one of the archons that did the most for their people and genuily love them. I agree that he isn't "bad" he must have his reasons just like Zhongli mentioned he had a contract that prevented him from answering some of the traveler's questions... Venti must be scared of something or wants to avoid celestia at all cost. I wonder if the archons know what the fatui's or more like Cryo archon's plan is.

I'm subscribing to the theory that Venti gave his Archon powers to Dvalin after the final fight. That whole exchange seemed so perfect in hindsight. He mentioned that an archon calling Dvalin wouldn't really give Dvalin the freedom to refuse the call. If Dvalin is made into the Archon, then Venti can call him while Dvalin maintains his freedom.

Yeah. I realized something was up when Zhongli just handed his Gnosis over. Then it was confirmed when Raiden had already abandoned her Gnosis to Yae Miko. The Gnoses may not be as powerful as the Harbingers believe and/or the Archons are at least willing to give the Tsaritsa's machinations a try. But I also think the Archons are using the traveler as an insurance policy either in case the Tsaritsa really is evil or the Celestials are still too powerful. They could easily step in and deal with the conspirators and cataclysms but leave it up to the Traveler and some friends instead. Perhaps Aether and Lumine went to Teyvat in the first place at the Archon's request to help overthrow the Heavenly Principles but the dimensional travelers were waylaid by the Sustainer.

The line where Venti speaks about Signora’s smirk, that she stole it from the Tsarita… very suspicious. I think maybe the Delusion, which gave Rosalyn’s Human Form after being turned to liquid fire gave her not only Cryo Powers, but the Cryo Archon’s appearence as well

I honestly think one of the main reasons he didn't outright offer up his gnosis to Signora even though he didn't want it was to have deniability. This way Celestia can't hold him as a traitor or an opposition. Even if it's a weak argument (because who is going to believe a mere mortal could rob and Archon). They can force he to say he gave it out. They just have to go with the fact that it was technically stolen.

I think it’s important for the gods to always follow their “rule”. Zhongli chose to give away his gnosis through contracts, and Ei had her gnosis taken even through her pursuit of eternity. It wouldn’t be odd if venti chose to act like he was expressing freedom when his vision was taken.

Something else I noticed is that if Venti really wanted to escape he could have. In the first scene he was in where he was talking to Dvalin in the Whispering Woods after the traveler agitated Dvalin Venti just teleported away (or turned himself invisible I don’t know he disappeared). He also has the power of illusion seen in the scene just before his Gnosis was taken where he “healed” the holy lyre but said the spell wouldn’t last. Those powers, both of illusion and teleportation, could have aided him in escaping if he really wanted to keep his powers. He had time to decide to leave when the Traveler blew away the Fatui Agents before Signora arrived and froze his legs to the ground. I have another idea with this is maybe he couldn’t take traveler with him and didn’t want the Fatui and Signora to use the traveler as bait or a hostage to force Venti back, or maybe he just wanted to give it away then. Either way he only used his weakest winds to barely break the ice when he was stuck. He definitely did it on purpose. His depth and design are honestly what makes him my favorite character and I love it so much. I really hope he continues to appear in the story and in events.

venti is probably the smartest (in the sense of having seen things) of the seven, because even though he was much younger than Zhongli, he probably traveled the world as a bard, and saw many things. Venti probably knew what he was doing, but the fatui were bothering mondstadt, so he couldn't let them go easily, so he teased la signora a little. Because, let's be honest, the traveler defeated la signora as a crimson sorceress and raiden killed her with a single blow, it's not possible that venti couldn't land a single hit on her. Maybe it was just a theater to convince someone that he was really trying, maybe just for the traveler, maybe for the Fatui soldiers, maybe for the Signora herself or even something watching them...

wait you're onto something about venti announcing himself as barbatos in the cathedral. in the cathedral WHERE A FATUI AGENT IS LOCATED (Viktor). Sounds very much like he did it on purpose, especially if he never intended to show himself to his people. It may not have been just to get the Lyre der Himmel... But to draw eyes to himself, paint himself as target for the fatui so they knew where to look. And as you said, he probably already knew they were just trying to draw him out- but he still went straight into the trap he already knew about, fulfilling their actual purpose for being there!

I always like to think that the tsarita, venti and zhongli are like working together to fight Celestia.

But like… all of the archons seem to have no problem, and that is to say the least, with letting go of Gnosis. Venti did nothing where he is a *** archon, Zhongli signed contract to get rid of it (aaaand his responsibilities), and Ei gave it to Yae so long ago. I wonder how about the rest of the archons. It’s as if they not only didn’t care about gnosis’ but somehow wanted to get rid of them. 🧐

Ok here is my theory. the scene after defeating Dvalin. Right after Venti says the famous line: "Freedom if demanded of you by an Archon is really no freedom at all", he makes an orb and gives it to Dvalin to which Dvalin says: "is this... the power of the Anemo Archon" which indicates he put his power into Dvalin. That is probably why he didnt fight back. He already stored his power and not scared of Signora and laughs in her face instead.

Yeah tbh I think the whole thing on venti's side was an act, not for us but for Celestia, it was his connection to Celestia, if they saw him give it up willingly it could cause issues. Zhongli keeping the terms of a contract is in character for him, Celestia knows that and frankly they probably don't want to call him on it since he was/is known as the strongest archon. Ei never accepted her gnosis, her sister was the real archon and from everything we know when she died ei just tossed it aside, Celestia can't call her out on it. In sumeru, same as with ei, it doesn't belong to less lord, the fatui taking it can't be held against her. Venti was the only one in an awkward position, so it makes sense that he put on an act to keep Celestia from getting suspicious. Edit: I'd just like to mention all feats from the archon war are all done without a gnosis, so even without his gnosis and with his status as the weakest archon, he still would have had enough strength to send signora and all of mondstadt to a new area code if he wanted to

I have started to think that Gnosis are red herring. Despite the importance that have been put into them by Fatui who are trying to gather them all, the gods themselves seem not to care for them at all. Venti didn't bother to be upset over losing his nor did he consider getting it back. Zhongli traded his for a little bit of theatre. If it was actually valuable to him, Zhongli would have chosen other means to achieve his goals. Ei just gave her's away, basically telling Yae to do whatever she wants with it. Even Yae just traded it for Traveler who let's be honest wasn't all that vital to Yae's goals. All in, three gnosis so far have had as much value as just expensive chess pieces. Really neat but all in all they are just good for a board game. Dendro gnosis seems to change that but we'll have to see where it goes.

Please Aster make a theory or speculation video based on Enkanomia story quest. So many big secrets about gods were revealed there. I would love to see any sort of discussion regarding that. After ending the quest I really need a place to discuss about it.

venti 100% let signora take his gnosis because he probably already knows what the fatui's plan/cryo archon's plan is and agrees to it completely but he doesnt wanna look like he is actaully helping the cryo archon (maybe because celestia is watching so he helps with the plan indirectly) plus we saw how raiden, an archon with no gnosis easily slice signora to bits if you think of it, venti, an archon that possessed a GNOSIS AT THAT TIME could have easily squished signora. its actually scary lol

I was so confused at his reaction after taking his Gnosis away. He's so damn calm about it making me think that the Gnosis was not that important but the fact that Zhongli says that the Gnosis does hold value made me really question on what's Venti's intentions.

i firmly believe that even if he didn’t plan/already know his gnosis was gonna be taken he was waiting for an opportunity for it to happen so he was just like “yeah sure” when it happened

Also there is the whole thing of the contract between zhongli and celestia which the contract to end all contracts will be interesting to see how thaty changes that but more to the point of venti in the dialogue venti mention how he and the cryo got fell out 500 years and said 'you see ago a certain calamity happened after that she cut all ties with me' (Khenria im probably spelt that wrong sorry ) and Zhogli means a the Khenria but says he cant disclose the dealts (im assuming the contract made with celestia to make peace) so there the possibility in short term venti saw the contract as a short term way to get peace bu the cryo god didnt like it and left and he know that in the long terrm to get freedom for the world from celestia is to make it possible to fight back but this is just theroy craft at this point
