I know this video is quite old but I would like to thank you for such a great explanation. It would be really great if you make video about ventilator graphs. Thanks

Will try to to that. Waveforms can be one of the most difficult things to interpret on a ventilator.

I:E = 1 : Te/Ti = Ti : Te = Ti/(TCT - Ti) = Ti / (60/RR -Ti) = 1 : (60/(RR x Ti) -1) So if you know the RR and Ti you can easily calculate the I:E ratio with this formula.

I like your videos! thanks. I'm a recent new grad and is currently working at a community hospital. im still new. can you do like a video on ABGs, V60 non invasive ventilator, Ventilator Emergencies, and Trach care. Thanks. I think those subjects will help people a lot as well.

Hi, this may be an awkward question..but do we have to always set the Ti ,so that the I:E ratio always between 1:2 and 1 :5? Sometimes, I found that the patient looked more synchronized with the ventilator with an insanely lower I:E ratio (1:9 , or 1: 10, etc)..and so, how should I set the TI and the I:E ratio? Should I force the 1:2 I:E ratio in these patients? I am talking about I:E ratio in PCV mode. Thanks
