Ventimiglia in Italy, just accross the border from France into Italy. This is one of the big border railway stations between Italy & France, French local trains serve places like Monaco, Nice & Cannes terminate here and also Italian, both long distance and regional trains do terminate at this railway station.
From Ventimiglia, we'll be taking an Italian Intercity train to Milano Centrale (Milan Central railway station) via Genova (Genoa), until Genova the railroad is located directly at the coast, the scenery is awesome.

Its beautiful, actually I really recommend the route along the coast from Frejus in France to La Spezia in Italy

I may consider going to Italy with this route next time to enjoy a bit of Mediterranean Coast. Perhaps in a future Interrail trip I could get a TGV straight down to Marseille from Lille (connecting from the 1104 London-Amsterdam Eurostar) followed by Cannes or Nice and get that amazing TER service (love those double-deck Coradias, as I've ridden one from Luxembourg to Metz and found it very stylish and comfortable) along the coast to Ventimiglia for this Intercity service across to Milan, with a stopover Monte Carlo on the way. Last month, I went to Milan via Luxembourg and Switzerland (you can see my latest videos on it), which was also a lot of fun as I took a route that completely avoided compulsory reservations all the way from Brussels downwards. TER routes from Luxembourg to Basel, changing at Metz (stayed overnight there as I found an inexpensive hotel right in front of the station) and Strasbourg is also a path I highly recommend doing.

Great video again. Which tool/website are you using to compare the climate impacts of car, plane and train?

Thank you. I'm using ecopassenger.org (I should have mentioned the source). I adjust it in terms or add railway green energy certificates (because if they are using green energy I guess this makes most sense). Also I adjust the full capacity, for both planes and trains because these seats are there anyway so this also makes most sense. At last, to compare the real impact I also adjust climate factor for the flight, because pollution on a high altitude is more damaging than on a lower altitude. Thus way you get to see the real comparison.
