I just vented my cap and discovered a very good way to deal with those two tiny opposing springs is to use a gob of Petroleum Jelly to retain the spring where it goes into its seat on each "arm". This will hold them in place good enough until you can squeeze them together the way they are suppose to go.

Lost spring while trying to reassemble, Mr. Adams addressed this but thought I could handle it, looked three hours for the spring, replaced with 3/16 X 7/8 or .775 x 22.225 x/406 Tilley comp spring and cut to length. , replace with stock screw, had to grind screw head to fit cap, total cost $4.75. works great.

Hi James! I was riding a motorcycle in rainy weather and the motorcycle stopped working. Stopping, I could not start it. After opening the tank plug, the sound of intake air followed and after that the engine started normally. This only happens in rainy (wet) weather. Is it due to the malfunctioning of these valves?
@Jadams19114 жыл бұрын
If you have an after market air filter, rain can be sucked in the carb causing this problem. some people will put an air filter sock over the air filter when they ride in the rain. Also water can be thrown up on the coils causing you to lose spark. I've had this happen to me a few times. Just pull the connecters and apply dialectical grease to the connectors

FRED DAVIS AKA DOG start with the regulator. It's most likely the issue.. the tests are long and confusing and I spent a lot of time Tearing my bike apart and ordering parts just to replace a stator that wasn't bad. eBay has em cheap. Long story short, I have an entire new charging system bc a $30 easily accessible part went out. Now I'm out at least $250.
@peprml6 жыл бұрын
Heya Chaos. Although I'm sure Fred has his problems figured out by now, here's a link for future reference. You don't have to take the side cover off to do the tests. You want to measure ohms across the three combinations of wires from the stator, continuity to make sure its not grounding out between ground and each of the three wires, and with engine running, check AC current across all three combinations of the stator wires. Enjoy Peace kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a9xif9d50dzHoX0.html
