This definitely was an improvement from past years, hopefully she can make more progress in 2024. I was there to watch her match against Kudermetova in Cincinnati and it was stunning!!! ❤❤❤

It started so promising in Auckland but her body keeps breaking down sad !

That body is not 20 anymore... it has been worked over with much athletics. It is starting to do what most athletic bodies (including my own) begin to do once they are 30+. You simply can't do all of that to a body with zero consequences. I'm speaking as a former athlete, nowhere near her caliber.

With that happening it's probably the protein and food she needs to eat and drink plenty more often and resting and ice bath for recovering

I felt that she was finally gaining confidence in her body and her game during the grass season but that fall at Wimbledon took it all away. I feel that if she didn’t have that fall she would’ve had a different season after Wimbledon

@@bqnanaaa4838 it obviously meant something to Venus because she was able maintain her level and keep against her opponent who was ahead but started to struggle. I’m going to assume that you a lack of actual tennis match experience as a player or you wouldn’t say that all. That match was not given away isn’t it like the number 1 rule that the match isn’t over till it’s over. I’ve been in many similar circumstances where my opponent was winning comfortably in both sets but I was still able to fight my way back and win the match 🙃

@@gzhang6073 she did but never seemed quite 100% comfortable or confident in my opinion. There was definitely a difference in her confidence between the grass season and the US open hard court season.

Tough, tough year but definitely serving and hitting with much more consistency than in previous years.

She was competitive in every match this season aside from Minnen. Like she said, she came back too quickly from the Wimbledon injury (after already coming back from the one in Auckland). Still has the game to beat top 20 opponents.

She looked so good in Auckland, her movement was better than in 2022 and all around her entire game looked better. I really think she could have shut some people up if the injury didn’t happen. It’s always gonna remain a what if. Again she looked decent before Wimbledon but yet again an injury. I’m always left to wonder what might happen if she didn’t get injured at all.

I felt a resurgence coming when she was in that tournament when she had that hamstring injury against Zhu Lin then unfortunate couldn't catch a break the rest of the season

Thank you for these videos I really enjoy them! 😊 Venus is not winning as before put for me it’s always a pleasure seeing her playing and doing what she loves to do! As a Venus fan, yes it can be frustrating seeing her loosing, but she’s doing what she wants and she’s nothing to prove. Nevertheless, I still have that little hope that she can have a great last season, or have a great last run in one big tournament like Wimbledon or US Open before quitting. Let’s keep our fingers crossed 🤞have a nice 2024!

I didn’t realize how good her movement was in aukland, compared to the rest of the season. She never looked the same after the Zhu Lin match. Even during the grass season she was hobbling around the court. Aukland was her peak and unfortunately it was stopped by injury :(

She was up against Zhu, Naef, Ostapenko and Zheng and frustratingly lost them matches 😤😓

The zhu one was something I really think couldn’t be helped bc when she was up 5-3 that’s when she tore her hamstring. The other ones tho yeah very understandable.

All in all, it wasn’t a bad comeback. She was on the right track. I just wish the body would hold up enough to play a proper season.

Venus should consult with Dr.Nun Amen Ra. He’s one of the world’s leading actors in age reversal. He’s also a professional bodybuilder with world records in his weight class. He will have the lease back to playing like she’s in her late 20s within a matter of months.

It is sad to watch that a legend like her gets something out for herself of losing in first rounds over and over again instead of gracefully admitting that time doesnt stop for no one and stepping away fron the sport instead of embarassing in front of the world. My opinion. But if she enjoys losing in first rounds go ahead.

She's fit cardiovascularly, but she's not strong enough. Men move faster because we have more muscle. If she were to weight train (which she expressed she doesn't want to do), she'd move MUCH better. That's why Serena, before the pregnancy, was soooo explosive. Her body was sculpted. After the pregnancy, she lost quite a bit of muscle, and struggled to attack from defensive positions the way she used to. (This is also the reason why they BOTH sustained so many leg injuries the past few years: they're trying to explode, but their legs aren't strong enough.)

In 2017 she looked very slim and was extremely agile off the ground. She may feel carrying too much muscle might slow her down, running wise

Lol😂😂 overrated Venus can't win even a challenger tournament now let's alone WTA tournament. She pretty much struggle in last 10 years.

No. Yeah she was top prize money winner because of the weaker field, it's during Serena's pregnancy period & before the emergence of Iga, Osaka & Barty. She didn't win any slam since 2008 Wimbledon when she was just 28 years old. In fact after 2001 she won just 3 slams (all in Wimbledon), she struggle everywhere that's happened if you have one dimensional game, others will easily figured out. She last held the no 1 ranking in July 2002 when big 3 had zero slam 😂😂. She didn't reached any slam finals on hardcourt from 2003 A.O to 2017 A.O (that 14 years😱😱). She sucks on clay & finally she is too overrated because I guess the reason you know.😉😉

I find it funny how you’re trying to diminish everything that she’s won, like it’s easy to go there and win a tournament, let alone 7 single slams, 14 doubles slams, 5 olympics. Not sure what’s your point here, but not valid. You’re talking about a living legend of tennis, a woman that was fearless on her time and have accomplished more than 99.9% of tennis players will ever do. So you’re putting all in luck? You better work in your luck, it doesn’t come easy.
