Ever since then, there has been a faction of die-hard Argentina football supporters... (In West Bengal, India... there is a statue of Diego Maradona) Brazil supporters make the other half (Others for Germany, Spain, England...) but Argentina supporters have been outnumbering them in the Messi era. When Argentina won the title in 2022, Bangladesh erupted in celebrations like they had won the World Cup. Argentinians in Qatar were shocked how many Bangladeshis had flocked there to support the Argentina team in the World Cup.

The fact that a lot of countries such as Bangladesh was rooting for Argentina is crazy. Argentina and Brazil has possibly the biggest fans in the world and they love Messi so much. Unfortunately most of the fans dont use insta to show how much they follow him on television

I am a Bangladeshi who has been an Argentine football fan all my life, even when I didn't understand football properly (most Bangladeshis are like this from parents to kids the support automatically rolls over), with every passing year my knowledge, understanding and passion for football grew (for Argentine football, players and more specifically Leo)...I still remember, when Argentina lost the first match...more than half of my colleagues were super sad and nearly lost hope, well, they did i donno why...the people who knew how much i love Argentina even called me to offer sympathy... being a positive thinker with going down swinging mentality, and above all a Muslim, I thanked them for their concern and told them two words AlhamduliLLAH (thanks to AllaH) and IN ShaA AllaH (if AllaH wills)...cause, in my experience, in most cases, every great team has a bad day in a tournament, and I believed the worst for the Albiceleste was over at the group stage match (nearly making every match from that point of a knock out one though)...still, I believed they could do it cause when you hit the rock bottom all you can do is go up....and AlhamduliLLAH they did :) btw, the crowd you paused on (the first time) is from a university in Bangladesh (if my memory serves me right) :)

I am an argentine living in the US. I watched Messi’s WHOLE career since the friendly games he played in 2005 before the u20 South American Championship. I had no doubt whatsoever that he is the best footballer that ever lived BEFORE winning this world cup. But I was so nervous before the final that I decided not to watch it. I love Messi so much that I couldn’t have stand to see him losing another World Cup Final. It wasn’t about the possibility of me being sad, it was about him not being able to make it. So I just woke up very early in the morning that magic Sunday and went for a 3 hours walk in woods, listening to classical music. Then I got back in the car, drove home, parked the car, my wife opened the door with tears in her eyes. Happy tears. Then I knew Messi had made it. So I cried.

You have to make the effort and go see some Messi game in MLS. You won't regret it...
