Thse video tutorials form Google themselves are also a great resource to learn TRUE SEO techniques and not be misled with other people talking about trash SEO strategies.

verification process is a technical process. However, it can be made simpler by using .xml file upload instead of .html file upload. Most of the websites have issues with .html verification file upload.

I did not think it was helpful at first, but the instruction for the metagging helped me in the end; on the other hand, I have a degree (Soon to be a Masters) in computer science and still found this difficult... So I really think they could have explained this better! For one thing, the "recommended" method should not be in my view. Messing around with your DNS configurations is not a simple task. Moreover, if your domain provider is not your host, they are unlikely to be invested in helping you if you host elswhere, which is often the case. If you do not have extensive experience in I.T then this tutorial is simply not detailed enough. Provide step-by-step guides and for goodness sake do not encourage non-technical people to just go messing with their DNS configuration, for one thing, why would a non-technical person even know what this is, much less how to reconfigure it! Come on Google!

Just throwing this out there, my "site" I want to include is my Deviantart and this feature won't let me do this. I would also want to include direct links to the content used such as link to a piece done in a speedpaint, but if I can't link it to the original piece, much less need to verify each and every link, it will be extremely incomplete. I want to include what I can in the video because not everyone will check or have access to the description and this does not allow me to do this.

I uploaded a HTML verification file and it said it's now verified (1 hour ago) ... and I saw "success" on screen. But the option to set my domain with or without the "www." is asking me to verify again. Which is odd.

Yer know - none of this junk is working for my website at all... Domain registered with GoDaddy, Hosted by HostGator and running Wordpress and I have tried every single thing to achieve verification for months and none of it works, tracking code, CNAME, TXT the lot...

I'm trying to do this in 2017, so if it was not helpful 5 years ago, then it'll be absolute garbage nowadays.

Nothing works. I use a template based web site. I loaded the html file , tried the domain part, you still say not verified. I am not into all this html crap. Guess you guys don't care, I don't either. I have better things to do. My website does just fine.
