@@harverc229 So your logic states: "If a country speaks the same language as another country, they are the same ethnic group," correct? Now, let's apply this to the countries you mentioned... Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, and Georgia ALL speak different languages! If we look at the Ireland and Britain example, the only reason that the Irish speak primarily English is because they were colonized by the Brits, who forced the use of English instead of Gaelic.
