Hi Music Lover,
The foundation of this song was laid by me two years ago. I then started to figure out a nice melody line on the piano and later looked for a suiting chord progression underneath the melody.
This week I started creating a fingerpicking pattern for the song. After experimenting I ended up with an open C major tuning of my guitar. With this tuning I can play a lot of chords over 5 to 6 strings (because the song is in the key of C), which sounds great. And because the low E string is now tuned to C, the guitar sounds nice in the bass.
The lyrics were originally in English, but I decided to write my own songs in Dutch. I'm not a good singer and if I have to sing in another language, it's even more difficult. The song is about desire and transitions. These are 'only' the first two verses, there will be a chorus and probably a bridge as well. To be continued.
It was tough to play and sing. I keep forgetting the lyrics or getting tangled up with the fingerpicking pattern.
All in all very satisfied. I really 'feel' the song and I haven't had that to this extent with my previous songs.
Thanks for your visit, till the next video.
Ciao, Buck
