I hope the hack checks get more severe every year. There are little kids who grow up wanting to play adult vgc and some of them never cheated for their teams. Why should they, as young adults, have to compete with life long cheaters and the advantages it gets them when people don't want to see cheaters play each other: that's what smogon tournaments are for.

Feel like top players should be the last people complaining about pokemon being locked behind other games considering that basically all of them competed in regional and/or worlds in the lasts games.... You don't get an invitation to World with only 1 years experience in competitive pokemon

"bred their mons 100% in a legal way?" - so your admitting you cheated? otherwise you wouldn't be using that word "legal" you are no longer in the tourney therefore what you did is "illegal" incidentally.

Some of them probably have Karens in their family that have had a bad influence on these people and the bad traits have passed down to these cheaters. That is my theory anyway and one of the few logical explanations that I can think of to explain why these people are the way they are. Bad influencers in general (from family members or people outside their families - bad social media influencers and bad friends and perhaps even strangers) is the other reason I can come up with to explain this behavior.

Everything looks good until the Nintendo ninja show up and enforce the law. I try to tell people that Japanese society is a very lawful one. If you went there expecting to break the rules and not get punished you are either a VIP or you thought you wouldn't get caught. Just be glad they are only kicking you out of the competition.

Heres the thing...you fuckers might have had a point back in the gen 3 to gen 5 eras when you basically had to work a 9 to 5 to make a competitive team. You have no excuse anymore because I can literally make a competitive team in a day or 2 and it takes no effort. You don't even need to breed for egg moves anymore. Just slap a mirror herb on your pokemon, put it in a party with the pokemon that has the egg move you want, open a picnic and boom now you have the move. There are only 2 things that might take you time: 1. you want a legit shiny team or 2. you want 0 attack.

Please share all videos that expose cheaters at worlds (or at any competitive Pokémon event - or people who were caught cheating in general) like this one and future videos that are from Verlisify (and past videos) as well. The cheating problem in Pokémon needs to be addressed and there needs to be more pressure on the Pokémon company international and on the cheaters.

You are 100% right about this, it has become a lot easier to get a team competitive ready, it has even gotten significantly easier to get a 100% legit full shiny team. I did it myself, the effort is very much acceptable. Even the whole Gholdengo point is so trashy, I got 2 Gholdengo legit, one with 1 Attack EV and a 0 Attack EV. With testing teams in Pokemon Showdown and then putting in the effort to get it together ingame, it is literally easier than ever before. Now I will say getting banned for a hacked Pokemon on your file is nonsense, as you would have to avoid trading with anybody that isn't already a close friend to make sure you are clean on that regard, but as you said, it is probably not just a single one, but many more. The whole no ingame competition advantage is also BS, people gen teams quicker than anyone can make them legit and therefore they can react to meta changes more quickly, giving them a significant advantage.

I read a tweet describing this as "Verlisify's wet dream", I think this is the VGC Players' version of "The Matrix is attacking us"🤣🤣🤣 Oh NOW people bring up boycotts and lobbying for a competitive editor? Where were these people in Gens 4 and 5? Where were they in Gen 6, which didn't have bottle caps for legendaries? Have Wolfe / Cybertron & friends EVER even mentioned this, or are they just running with that TPCI bag and sweeping this under the rug? 15 years too late, now deal with it! Dishonest players being finally caught, means it could be time for one or more honest players who had been saying year after year that they wanted to compete, should finally debut on the scene to encourage honest playing. P.S. I was curious if Verlis would give VGC another chance with the pengulem swings back the other way. I means he's one of the best players in the format, he'd have no trouble earning his invite to Worlds via this new regulation going into effect after the start of the new year. That would be battles to watch. I mean, I've been experimenting with one of his gen 9 favorites for Doubles, Clodsire (along with Goodra, among others; cause I've finally figured out maybe Trick Room would be better with all the speed tier stuff).

Love to see the disqualifications. Hopefully this is the first step in burning down the VGC scene and building a new scene fit for legitimate players in its place. Any trainer worth their pokeballs wouldn't come up with lame excuses like "the games are too inaccessible", "It takes too long to get good Pokemon", or "We need genning to be allowed". I’ve been playing the main line series games since 1998. 25 years. Via Pokémon Bank, and now Home, I have a collection of legit Pokémon across every generation. Seeing people getting punished for cheating is absolutely hilarious to me, and even though I’ll likely never compete in a VGC format, I literally laugh at loud at the ones who got disqualified because in a small way, my thousands of hours of grinding wasn’t for nothing. I laugh at the fact that I would likely crush the “best” competitors out there because they literally don’t have a team to battle with! 😂

I've been a gamer my entire life with emphasis on Fighting Games, but I have a spot for Pkm... Still, ONLY THE PKM SCENE IS SOO ABSURD AND LUDACRIS to have the words "hacks" and "competitive" in the same sentence ... Not only the game has heavy RNG at its core, the players want to validate their lack of dedication to get the actual tools needed to compete.... A complete Trash/Joke of a competitive Scene

Let's be real if you're playing on an online tournament where it isn't worth your time to grind for hours its generally ok to to gen because A.) It doesn't really matter at the end of the day B.) It's a online tour ffs they don't care if you gen your mons generally but if you are planning to go to an official tournament you should probably not gen your mons because they ✨️check✨️ your mons for hacks just a thought tho 🤷♀️

to be completely honest. i havent play comp pokemon since x and y. i spent weeks breeding out my pokemon for battle. but now in scarlet and violet. its so easy to get the perfect mon. u got the berries to get rid of stats. u got the vitamins and feathers to get the stats u want. its so easy now.

Currently just waiting for enough cheaters to be caught that it becomes worth it again to play Pokemon games other than Pokemon Go where cheating is more difficult. Of course I could be wrong in my approach but at least I've been getting lucky with the shiny hunting odds and just making do with having fun in the meantime.

Here’s where I disagree with you. The players may have hacked Pokemon, but the amount of time they’ve spent, playing relentlessly, putting in the team building effort, and actually qualifying for the events is still very much there. Not to mention their skill level. Hacked Pokemon don’t make someone a good player. I don’t condone to cheating whatsoever, but you can’t take away someone’s drive and ability to play.

Hacked Pokemon give an objective advantage, especially in Pokemon where its hundreds of hours and an actual resource advantage. By hacking the Pokemon they prove they couldn't otherwise obtain it so they have a Pokemon they wouldn't have had or the opponent might not have been able to acquire. By cheating they prove they have no real skill since they show they can't win without cheating. It literally means they don't have the drive since they can't follow the rules and need shortcuts

I put my hands up to not liking you in some cases - that's just my opinion, it reflects on me more than you. But in this case I can whole heartedly say you are the one (if not the only one) sticking up for the rules. If this is not cheating: Why don't the people who blatantly gen just admit to doing it? Why is the Pokémon company banning so many who have genned or edited mon's? simple a "genned" pokemon in ANY CIRCUMSTANCE is illegal, even if its stats are "legit"

Days when I'm glad I'm working on my living dex (work in progress, kinda hard when gen 5's in Japanese cause it was cheaper than a NA cart but we're still chugging along to get done by next February), at least I can pull from it and breed from those if I want to try my hand at VGC or tourneys because I know where they came from... for the most part (looking at you Kangaskan and Spinda). Few of them came from Home's wondertrade but 99% of them came from catching and breeding Brilliant Diamond, catching in Arceus, and for legendaries I didn't want to grind the Ramanas shards for/couldn't get because of version exclusives I used Pokemon Go. It ain't much but it's honest work

Although I doubt they will, it'd be interesting to see them shut down the event if people continue to get DQ'd for cheating. It'd be a real eye-opener to the company as to the state of the community, and could potentially affect game development moving forward. For better or worse.

@@Verlisify I would love for people that play legitimate Pokémon and follow the rules to just call a lawyer just for WolfeVGC alone to be sued, if folks can expose the Billy Mitchell for cheating on a Donkey Kong Arcade game, the do the same to the cheaters and Wolfe himself... I am not a lawyer nor I claim to be one, but that is my advice at this point.

probably going to sound like a dumb question, I've never played competitive Pokemon just a fan of the games but is there any way in the game for me to check if my Pokemon are fakes? I've traded a fair bit on Violet and I've tried to trade over Pokemon to pokemon home using my other games. I'd rather not have any fakes of any kind if I can help it.

The only argument i have against this is that genning only levels the playing field by being able to play with the same mons. However the genners and legit players are never and never have been before separated. Pokemon company should continue this strict guidelines because some people that dont want to cheat but still really like the competitive scene very much so exist. Are these check just super random? It doesnt makes sense, shouldnt ALL players just go through a mandatory check?

i think that they should hack check before the championships and the judges should be able to release those pokemon either genned of hacked.. then they should be put into a room and then told theyre all DQ and theyre blacklisted from any Pokemon online activities that involve battling for a minimum 5yrs.. and also the championships are in Japan... you own something thats modded over there youre serving jail time lol

Its also not like there isnt a way to play the game where everyone gens. Its called Showdown, its weird that they dont just play there if the games are so restrictive. Shout out to the showdown guys who made a place for genners to play, now we just got to get them over there.

Two weeks later and people still defending people use gens. They make the fair argument regarding the time consumption needed to even get a chance to play competitively, but they also don't consider making gen pokemon to give an unfair advantage. Even though it clearly does for the people who play legitimately.

Lmao this is hilarious, all of the people that got caught crying all the while people on ladder are doing just fine 🤣. Genned pokemon that have all legal stats and moves isn't that big of a deal in my opinion looking at the effort you have to go through to get the gen pokemon the "legal" way. But it is funny seeing all these people that know the rules to VGC and still decided to bring gen mons into a tournament is still to hilarious at the outcome. 🤣

I love how the "pros" are defending there actions as if its normal and accepted glad this is getting cracked down on, now i feel like if i grind for a team enjoying the game as intended i feel like the average kid can see it as a obtainable goal. mabye in the future will feel more pride for the game if becausethey actually had to work for it. It's one thing to cheat in a casual playthrough, but VGC? If you're really that unable to commit to legit, then it would be easier to avoid the competitive level.

I will say for non legendary Pokemon, it's a pain to breed using the new picnic mechanic and I feel it takes so much longer to get the right EV rolls. BUT on the flip side for the legendaries that are eligible for regulation D it's so easy to transfer them from sw/sh, unless they were hacked too. Still doesn't excuse them if it clearly says in the rules and an email was sent out.
