Working on Tm1200. Tm1400 is almost identical except for the cutting width.

Really Nice video! Thanks for the tips and replacement procedures also website info. Really my biggest complaint with Vermeer is, not enough or absents of grease fittings! I’ve added many grease fittings to my Vermeer 604N, the VR 1222 rake, I need to add some on the TM 800 mower,around the main pivot pin. Happy Harvesting 😊

Thanks for the detailed video Chris. I have the exact same mower with quite a bit less wear on it but its nice to see what I will most likely need to do in the future. I have been into the cutter modules a couple of times so I was familiar with most of that but not the other things you did. I will tell you I have found the most annoying thing about this mower is the fact that those four little bolts that hold the bearing & gear into the module is the weak point on this cutter. If you hit any obstruction of any size, dirt clod, rock or anything like that it will pull those four little bolts right out of the hub and completely ruin the module. Speaking from experience... The only other issue Iv had with mine is the aluminum ends on each end of the lift cylinder will break off so I strongly advise you to have a spare end on hand. Other than that I really love the mobility and ability this mower has in transport getting into small gates and then having such a wide cutting width to shorten the time in the field. It does a good clean job cutting as well.

Great point on the lift cylinder ends! I will for sure get some on hand now. Luckily I have not had an issue with the 4 bolts being pulled out on my tm700 in the past 4 yrs but I think it’s a matter of “not if but when”. Thanks for the heads up!!

Your repair confirmed my thoughts on how the power is transfered down the cutter bar..... The Cutter bar power transfer changes from vertical to horizontal to vertical back to horizontal at each turtle, using bevel gears, shafts and spacers each requiring correct clearance.... Our cutters or going on 7 years without any maint other than blades and grease.... Bar has gear oil from factory.... never had to add

You must be running Krone cutters? There are slim choices finding a cutter that cuts at 15’+ feet but can go through an 8’ gate and only require 85 pto hp.

Our first Cutter was a Kuhn We sold it at the end of the first Year and bought the first Easy-cut 320 (10"3" cut, We now have 3 all mounted on KMC 4760 carts and a 3200 trail...... We have a J D 8200 that doesn't have a job since we ceased row cropping and my Son is comtemplating a Front Mount and the right and left rear mounted disc mowers..... Rather than running 4 units....

Okay now i got the machine. My lifting system ball joint was shot. You can see it 2:30 under red lock bar. i can't believe there is not grease point there. There is huge stress to that joint. I would put at least some oil there "daily". Also both lift cylinder ends was welded, some one said here that these ends are aluminium, but in my machine those are cast iron. Other wise it was in good condition. I can see why they put those dually wheels, it jumps very easily with singles

i also wonder why there is no wear skis stock. our smaller machine have them. i might order those if they dont cost much

My manual shows a serial break in 2013 and I wanna say the early 2013 year models had the cast iron ends. Are your lift cylinders painted yellow? I did buy a spare ball joint for when mine breaks. Also, mine did not come with skid shoes either. It’s apparently an option but they are cheaper than replacing rock guards.

Today i replaced that main lift link upper bush/ball joint, it was a fairly easy job. But how do you supposed to change grease to those "first" cutting rotors? the manual didn't help with that.
@CenTexAg
@CenTexAg 2 ай бұрын
The first two rotors are the drive pods. The manual calls them “drive elements”. They don’t take grease, they take gear oil. There’s a drain plug and you just drain and fill

Did you have a paint code for the yellow paint?

Chris I just got my 2024 4710 and I have 540/1000 pto. Was your tractor only ordered with 540? Idk what is different but mine came with a 1000 pto shaft and our ford 9600 is same way you just swap out pto shaft for whatever implement your running. I’m assuming gear box is different but idk, when you said that it really surprised me! Thanks for another good video!

My tractor was order with the 540/540E option. The dealer at the time did not have the 540/1000 optioned tractor in stock and I thought I would never need 1000 pto. If I could go back I would have waited for the 540/1000 optioned tractor.

@@CenTexAg ah yes that makes sense Chris! I forgot they have that option and yes I don’t blame you for wanting the 540/1000 because now your future implement purchases are narrowed to 540 or do what you did with cutter!
