I have a 2014 T4.85 New Holland and the problem I’m having is I can lift the arms with the “draft” lever. I was wondering if you think the “linkage” to the position lever and the hydraulic lever at the back of the tractor could have been “stretched”? I can see the linkage from the back of the tractor and I can raise and lower the arms by moving this linkage but when I climb back in the tractor the position lever doesn’t raise or lower the arms. Great video and information!!

I have the same issue with my 21 NH 55 Workmaster, I have a question about how to reinstall the aluminum sleeve, once the allen bolts are loosened, where should the manual lever inside the cab be in ? The stop or off position or the on-engage position ? I reinstalled the sleeve on my tractor in the engaged position as it was the only way it would go back on that collar, however that resulted in the manual lever inside extremely tight and still not operating the engage or disengage of the PTO. I feel like it is an easy fix but I would like to know that starting process before I reinstall it again to make sure I do it correctly. Should I pull the cable like you did in the video or push it in manually without using the lever inside the cab ?

A service bulletin came out from Massey regarding the def fluid sensor. If you continue to have the def issue the dealer should come out to replace the sensor. My 4710 had the same issue and after the sensor was replaced I have not had the issue. I was told the tolerances on the sensor were changed. What speed do you bale at and what type of bailer.

Hi Chris ... Always awesome to see a new video from you! I've never been able to put my finger why, but there is something mesmerizing about videos of a hay train raking and rolling round bales ... That was an awesome sequence you posted. And thanks for all the info. Regarding def fluid, my NH had a defective def fluid sensor that the dealer replaced. It got progressively worse until the tractor wouldn't even start! Since then I never store def above 70 degrees, and I only buy def fluid that has been manufactured in the last 6 months. Blue def is the only brand I can find that publishes its manufacture date (albeit you have to decipher the code). I haven't had problems since.

If you haven't already had it done, ask your dealer to do the update to the a/c system. It is a major change in the way the air circulates. I believe they tested it in 2021 and was released shortly after. My neighbor had his 4710 done with the test kit and it seemed to help, but he ended up trading it before the hottest part of the summer. I have been running a TM1200 since 2019 and it has been a great machine. It has only needed two repairs. The needle fell off the pressure gauge last fall and the heim joints failed on the transport lift cylinder. I believe that to be directly related to carrying the mower in the up position a bit more than what was intended. The red transport bar is essential. Enjoy watching your videos. I'm not sure why I like to watch folks cut hay when I'm not cutting hay, but I do!

Probably an old batch that expired... that brand is EXPENSIVE. All government juice needs to be the same makeup of urea to water or it will throw a fit. Cheap or expensive, it should all be the same... biggest is how long has it been sitting on the shelf and if in a hot or cool environment.
@MrRandalhandle
@MrRandalhandle Ай бұрын
@@farming4g I agree it should all be the same and I thought old on the shelf too. This was a couple years ago when def was doing its supply shortage. Kinda funny the first time I had an error it was with the peak platinum stupid expensive stuff haha. At least 5 different jugs of peak gave me an error for quality. 1200 hrs later never a problem with any other brand. So there’s something to it, maybe it’s just the price point keeps it on the shelf longer.

Man I’ve been looking at the tm1200. To me that’s the sucky part is having to mow. I have a 9’ Kuhn and the tm1200 would almost cut my time in half. My Vermeer plugs every once in awhile. I replaced the pickup teeth and that helped but it will do it on long stem grass like Johnson grass because it tends hang on the hay saver wheels. I’m about ready to go to a wide pickup baler.

I have said it before but I'll say it again, It's always a treat to see a new video from you! I would have never have dreamed the 4710 would pull that cutter in economy PTO. Whats the reason for running it in EPTO? I would think that is just putting more load on the tractor and that's why the coolant temp is getting that hot? I have never seen mine get to the hash mark just to the left of the half way hash pulling a 12' bat wing. I feel between that cutter and then running the baler with the rake you need a bigger tractor possibly? Maybe a 6712 or 6713? I had a couple issues on my 4710 with the same DEF quality code and noticed it was only when I filled the tank up completely full, up into the filler neck full. I quit doing that and have't had that code come back in almost 2 years ago. I know after treatment systems inside and out and it doesn't make sense to me. Coincidence? Possibly but it might be worth a shot.
@CenTexAg
@CenTexAg Ай бұрын
Yeah I’d love to get into a bigger tractor but I’m just not there yet. I really need to add a second tractor which was my goal this year but I had to go a different route. I run the 4710 in Economy because it’s better on fuel. It runs about 1500 rpm’s vs 2000. Temps seem to be the same in normal vs eco. I’ve gotten in to some really thick grass this year and the economy couldn’t handle it. My current bale count is 963 rolled on about 200 acres and the 4710/Tm1200 has cut every bit of it.

I did reseal them. It’s not hard, just take your time and pull them apart slowly. There are pistons and bushings on the back side that will fall out if you just rip it apart. Cris , a little tip for ya. That ep 0 grease your putting in those pofs is supose to come up to the bottom of the cross shaft, 3.4 oz. Heat that stuff up with hot water so it poors and you'll get a more acurate fill. Over fill causes heat.

Okay now i got the machine. My lifting system ball joint was shot. You can see it 2:30 under red lock bar. i can't believe there is not grease point there. There is huge stress to that joint. I would put at least some oil there "daily". Also both lift cylinder ends was welded, some one said here that these ends are aluminium, but in my machine those are cast iron. Other wise it was in good condition. I can see why they put those dually wheels, it jumps very easily with singles

My manual shows a serial break in 2013 and I wanna say the early 2013 year models had the cast iron ends. Are your lift cylinders painted yellow? I did buy a spare ball joint for when mine breaks. Also, mine did not come with skid shoes either. It’s apparently an option but they are cheaper than replacing rock guards.

Chris I just got my 2024 4710 and I have 540/1000 pto. Was your tractor only ordered with 540? Thanks for the detailed video Chris. I have the exact same mower with quite a bit less wear on it but its nice to see what I will most likely need to do in the future. I have been into the cutter modules a couple of times so I was familiar with most of that but not the other things you did. I will tell you I have found the most annoying thing about this mower is the fact that those four little bolts that hold the bearing & gear into the module is the weak point on this cutter. If you hit any obstruction of any size, dirt clod, rock or anything like that it will pull those four little bolts right out of the hub and completely ruin the module. Speaking from experience... The only other issue Iv had with mine is the aluminum ends on each end of the lift cylinder will break off so I strongly advise you to have a spare end on hand. Other than that I really love the mobility and ability this mower has in transport getting into small gates and then having such a wide cutting width to shorten the time in the field. It does a good clean job cutting as well.
