One plastic mod i did was cut the rear fender down for easier access to my tunnel bag. Might cut my radiator shrouds down next after seeing that in this vid. Keep the good content coming fellas!

Vernon Snow MX I got a 2020 Yamaha Yzf 450 and a 2020 camso 129. Just installed the led light and skid plate last weekend. And just received the fuel rack Friday. We don’t have enough snow here in Slave lake Alberta to try it yet tho. Going from sled to bike so it should be interesting.

Plain old red whistle is great for signaling. Horns freeze up in the cold.

You need longer tracks and more power, I solved it with a YZF R1 165hp at the track 146" with 3" paddles.

I have heard of such things, but never seen one in person. Do you think it could dance around in the trees like we do, or are you pretty limited to larger open spaces?

@@VernonSnowMX Well let me put it this way, it gets stuck like any snowbike or snowmobile in bottomless pow or thick, wet, sticky, goo like you guys were in, and a little harder to dig and pull out, so without an able bodied rider and companion which we always have for safety, so no problem. Like any Snowbike gear selection and understanding how a clutch works is essential something Snowmobile and Quad riders lack (poor souls) you can trench yourself with that power in 2 seconds. Having said that it gets up on top of the snow very quickly and tends to stay there, the hook up with the 3" paddles is insane, and is very, very fast nothing can keep up to it. It is capable in the trees especially if your a seasoned rider, but not as flickable as a 450cc obviously, it is longer and heavier, in the open its smiles for miles, and in the steep mountains it is a chute monster, outclimbs snowmobiles.

Nice! Why not use a thermostat? Too unreliable?

Oh, we also use a thermostat. Here is a note from Ian @ The Snowbike Shop that is a bit specific to our set-up. "We use additional items such as the radiator shut off valve and radiator blockers because the use of the t-stat alone, we are unable to reach the opening temps of the t-stat to allow coolant to circulate through the radiators. If we can't reach the opening temp of the t-stat, we are relying on our warm loop, which in our case is our handlebars. A 1/4" line with a long run is not what the water pump impeller was designed for. In "the big picture" a t-stat is a vital part of proper operating temp, but alone it isn't enough."

Vernon Snow MX you guys know so much thanks for sharing! Have you tried the trailtech voyager pro? It’s pretty cool to see all your buddy’s location live.

@@sampep That is a great reminder. We have not tried this yet. I wonder how much range they have? Do you have any experience with them?

Yes I got one and love it. From online review: Vernon Snow MX Using the buddy tracking is awesome once you get it set up. On your map page your buddy's location will show up as long as they are within range using a radio frequency. It works with the same range as a high-end handheld radio and even creates a mesh network that will use any connected Voyager Pro to relay positions of other buddies even if your unit can not connect due to range or terrain limitations. Range was about 4-5 miles in open terrain and then a little better than line of sight when in forest or mountain zones. You can easily see if your buddy is moving and even see a “tail” for their track if you’d like. Buddy tracking requires an external antenna that is included with the Voyager Pro. An'd we've heard rumors that the distance can get way better with stronger antennas. There is also the option of sending a help message to buddies through the unit as well.
