Agree, F1 has been like this as long as I remember and I'm sure for decades before that. As long as the regulations are changed every few years it's not such a big deal. And if it's boring on track, there's always something going on off track (Horner, Newey etc).

@byjamesosborne I've been a ferrari fan since 98 and remember that McLaren was almost untouchable from 98-99. Before that, it was the williams, then the Renault and mclaren before that etc. I wish other teams would give them a better challenge and fight for wins every race, but I can't blame RB for getting the regulations right and taking advantage of it.

I really like Max now he's matured a bit. He can take a joke, reacts well to a loss, turns his game around and come back stronger. Yeah sometimes he's sick and tired of the same questions, idiotic comments and when some reporters are just trying to bait him but I think the drivers really respect him for both his attitude on and off the track. Lando is my next favourite - because he just takes it all on the chin before the questions even come out. He's incredible at pushing forwards, on the sim and moving his team ahead. He's missing Max's killer instinct but brings so much support to his team. The two together would be unstoppable. Max to Maclaren?

Dominance is always temporary though; teams catch up over time and there are less gains to find at the top. The real problem is the upcoming rule changes in 2026 just as the signs appear of teams catching up to Red Bull. The signs are there that 2025 could be a really exciting season for the fans, but it all resets in 2026 and risks having one team find the golden ticket to success and leave everyone else behind, as Red Bull did in the ground effect era.

Untill now even after two full season of Max dominating, the ticket sales and the number of spectators who want to visit the GP's all around the world are only increasing and the numbers of television viewers is also increasing or at least stable.. Many GP promoters all around the world are trying to organize a race in their country, Lyberty media could easily organize another 10 GP's if the calander allowed it.. Perhaps that will be slightly less in England at the moment because some of them are still gutted about the outcome of 2021 and mayby some see some decline in some Brithish drivers performences in the last couple of years, but maby next year with Lewis in his Ferrari or Norris will ste up his game with his McLaren team.. And it is the same as it was years ago in Germany when Schumacher stopped his career in F1.. And will probably happen in the Netherlands when Max will retire, but overall the numbers of people coming to watch F1 are still growing.. And it is really up to the other teams to take steps forward and do it even better, you can't blame Max and his team for doing a great job..

I supported the young guy until signs of entitlement arrogance and disrespect became his major personality traits and 2021 was the nail in the coffin
@JayQ2k

I doubt this. Schumacher and Verstappen are 2 outliers in the 70 years history of F1. Max is arguably better, but there is a chance he just quits. And that be an interesting moment. Because if nobody has beaten Max over a season, then you'll know that anyone that continues is winning WDC because someone left. In the end you have a complete freak of nature that is just too good for the sport he plays. Like Federer, Usain Bolt, Phelps and the like.

@@CameronF1. I know. You are no least talking about an absolute machine in Max. There is no shutting him down. Perhaps after he quits F1 might need to completely reinvent itself as a sport. Because he will be where the fastest car is in '26 and since he's the fastest driver... Could become a horror show for some. Mercedes dominance was mainly due to the engine and when that converged others were winning. The Red Bull dominance is more rounded and thus no singular change in the rules will end that dominance. They might be a house of cards in the near future though.

Dominance in the sport is acting at the highest level. Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, Eddy Merckx, the youngster Tiger Woods etc. In tennis for almost 2 decennia Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. When the legends arrived, the others knew they would play for the other medals. In the F1 you have also the constructors title, so not only the driver, but the whole teams of hundreds of employee are working for the championship. So, the best drivers fights for the best car / team. Back to Red Bull dominance. Many were convinced in 2022 (less dirty air) that it was over with Red Bull and Verstappen when new rules were introduced against porpoising. Or the flexibel wings... Or the effect of less windtunnel time. Or the effect of the problems within the RB team. But when they still manage to perform outstanding... that deserves some credits. To make double stacks during the pitstops of 2.0 seconds... it is impressing. It could be predictable, but is up to the other teams to fight back at all fronts: fast drivers, car, pitstop, strategy etc. Not mentioned about the different circumstances like driving in the rain, in the evening, in the desert, with a couple of safety cars at one race... And still performing for P1... Was it boring to see Usain Bolt? Or Michael Phelps? Or Mike Tyson?

There seems to be a really determined effort in the mainstream F1 community to tear down Red Bull & Verstappen at the moment, delighting in their supposed imminent downfall. The thing about Max is, you know when he finally gets competition he is going to CHOKE. He is going to drive people off the tracks, chop, not brake to get ahead and make it look like the other driver should have left him room. The chaotic stewarding when it comes to penalties is because of what Max and Masi left behind, F1 has been going on since 1950 and those stewards seem more confused than ever before, and it is the drivers behind Max are paying for his violent get out of my way driving.
