A Jensaarai video feels like an event to me. Of all the versus You Tubers you are my favourite.

with hearing about the 7 forms repeatedly i have begun to develop an understanding about what they functionally bring when taught in full and succession. form one provides the fundamentals of blade work and guidance through the force. form 2 develops the methods of form one into a more focused offensive form. form 3 does the same as form 2 but with defensive forms. form 4 brings in advanced mobility. form 5 develops active counters. form 6 develops external methods into active combat, form 7 develops all the others into a complete and unique form and encourages a release into the force based on what you have developed your techniques to. with this understanding i feel that it is the ultimate ideal to learn all of the forms to develop a style that is unique to the user.

How would you have felt about a Plagueis-style book about Dooku and Sifo-Dyas, covering from their first days as Jedi Knights until Sifo's death? Could be a great addition to the new canon, and might retcon or even recanonize the backstories of people like Qui-Gon and Jango Fett, and characters like Komari Vosa, Tyvokka, Plagueis himself, and the Yinchorr.

I.... gotta say I did not expect you to use clips from Rogue One in the slightest but glad that you used the clips in question as those were effectively proper demonstrations of what you were speaking of.

Dooku vs Krayt? Two respected members of the Jedi Order who became infamous Sith Lords in galactic history.

I'm not sure whether or not this is coincidence or intentional, but in Legends Qui-Gon's lightsaber instructor praised him as one of the greatest lightsaber fighters he had ever trained over a 400 year period. This Jedi's name was never mentioned (as far as I'm aware). Now in a recent canon novel the elderly Jedi Master Tera Sinube was at one point a lightsaber to a young Qui-Gon. Could the unnamed legends Jedi Master and Tera Sinube be one and the same I wonder? Another subtle way of bringing an element of Legends into the new canon

I think a big advantage to Baas and a disadvantage to Jinn I didn't hear you mention is the gap in experience. Baas is over 300 years old according to your video, and Qui-Gon is in his 60s. I think the gap in age speaks for itself. I suppose a point you could argue is that we don't know (or at least I don't know) when Baas started his service in the order nor do I know when Qui-Gon started, but I can give a pretty good guess that it doesn't really matter considering the gap in age. Either way, it was an entertaining video!

See I know these are overused (and you know it), but that doesn't diminish the quality and passion you put into them for your matchups. Also, very interesting to see your evolution of analysis of the same 2 characters. Full thoughts at end of watching as always.

Hello. I've a suggestion for a versus video. Most likely as a versus short. Jedi Battlemaster Raskta Lu vs. Sith Blademaster Kas'im. Both great masters of the lightsaber both held there own against Darth Bane. Both fell largely due to extenuating circumstances: Kas'im from the temple falling on him and Raskta Lu from Zannah stabbing her in the back (literally). My initial thought is that Raskta Lu would win, but I am curious what your thoughts would be. And especially on the why the victor would be the victor. Sorry for the long comment. Love your videos. I was reading "Path of Destruction" again this weekend and noticed that Darth Bane while in combat with the Dark Lord Kas'im noted that the Dark Lord of the Brotherhood of Darkness was possibly the greatest blademaster ever. What do think of Darth Bane's assessment and do you agree with his analysis. If you do agree with Darth Bane who do you feel would be a worthy opponent? Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker; perhaps even the true Sith'ari himself, Darth Sidius (my personal opinion)? Would like to hear you thoughts on this. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Jinn should have learned forms 1, 2, 3, and 6 so he doesn't tire himself out and get in over his head. As he did with maul.

Qui-Gon just does not have much luck against staff wielders. Not saying he can't handle or adapt to staff based weapons, just that he has bad luck against them.

“It was never his body that failed him” Yeah, it was his fuckin stick. Bring a stick to a lightsaber fight get cut down. Whether it’s “force imbued” or not....... it’s still a STICK. Also, Qui-Gon was a lot physically bigger & stronger than Exar Kun ever was. Baas got torn up by him every time pretty much all due to his strength busting through his guard. Qui-Gon would do the same thing to him. He’d break right through his defense and shatter that force-imbued stick just like Kun did. Jinn for the win.

Kung Fu Panda is see? Are you a fan of that film trilogy Jen? Because even though I know it's meant for younger audiences, I freking love it! Especially the first two, the third one was a bit meh. Still, I find them both fun and intriguing at the same time, and in terms of themes and metaphysical powers, I feel like a lot of parallels can be drawn with Star Wars.

+Jensarrai1 Okay, so I do agree with the verdict, but I feel this is a mismatch. On a positive note, great about clarification of your sever force theory. I picked that fact up beforehand from the same source (I was looking into its viability against Darth Sion and Nihilus. I believe that if you sever force them, they should die). As to why this is a mismatch, consider that in the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook, Vodo is considered to be the Mace Windu of his era. I assume this means, that Vodo's skill level as a duelist+Force power=Windu which is well outside Jinn's reach. While it is true their force abilities would play as factors not decisive advantages, Baas's Battle mind does maintain force weapon's viability and he could probably yank Jinn's lightsaber out of his hand with force pull (especially considering Jinn's rather meh def.). Your dueling analysis was spot on but I think Baas's greater skill provides him with more of an advantage then you give him credit for. Like always, the quality of your analysis was great, I just feel that this was not really a balanced contest.

Good, well thought out video. I do have a few disagreements though. You mention Jinn has difficulty fighting duel bladed wielders, using his brief fight with Aurra Sing as an example. However, I think that was more due to Aurra whipping out the blade from nowhere, rather than Jinn having difficulty to adapt. Almost immediately after, she confesses that she got more than she bargained for. Also, in one of the Jedi Apprentice books Jinn fights Xanatos while Xanatos was wielding two blades. Jinn did absolutely fine, starting to gain an edge before the fight was left inconclusive. Furthermore, in Star Wars: Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan - Last Stand on Ord Mantell, Qui-Gon fights a group of people wielding training blades. While they weren't lightsabers, it still showcases an ability to deal with multiple blades effectively. As for the verdict, I understand the conclusion. However, I personally think Jinn is a bit more skilled. The reason being is Jinn's parity with Maul. In the Episode 1 Journal, Jinn fights Maul on Tatooine as we seen in the movie, however it explores the duel in a more detailed way. It depicts Jinn actually gaining an early advantage, only losing it at the end due to getting tired. This is explainable though, since Jinn had just been running in the desert for a considerable time, otherwise Jinn shows excellent stamina. When Obi-Wan retells the story of Jinn's brief duel with Maul, Obi-Wan's interpretation was that Jinn actually bested Maul. Either way, it's clear they're pretty close imo. I also think Jinn would break Baas's staff relatively quickly. As you mentioned, he was primarily a strength based duelist, with great physical strength. He was able to match Maul's strength head on, the same guy who tore through a Wampa's torso while not using force augmentation. Overall, good, enjoyable video. I'm a huge Qui-Gon fan so seeing more Qui-Gon is always a +. Finally, what do you think of Plo Koon vs Tholme?

Your theory on Force Suppression only used against dark siders seems to be false. I just came accross the bio of Darth Cognus. Her powers seemed to be most affective against foes with little to no dark side affinity. The nature of the power seems to differ from user to user.

Well presented. Though I would say Vodo-Siosk Baas at his zenith would totally overpower and beat Jinn. Baas was a weapons master, teaching the one of the greatest dark sider Exar Kun. I would even say Baas could beat Jinn and Kenobi both with relative ease.

I feel that people underestimate qui-gon jinns stamina because of his duel with darthmaul but I must say that Zabraks, darth mauls species are noted for having better stamina than humans so even if jinn was in his prime he would still fall in stamina to darth maul who is in his early 20s so his stamina would be the greatest in the galaxy.

Anakin Skywalker vs Darth Malgus? I have my own verdict on the matchup but before we start, I am a very big Anakin fanboy, but I wouldn't say he crushes Malgus, not by a long shot. Physicality = Anakin, Malgus is about 60 by the sacking of the Jedi temple and has a respirator which Anakin can easily exploit, they have comparable strength but Anakin is faster, they both have very high pain thresh holds as well so that is moot. Use of the force = Equals, Anakin has more raw power yes and their variety with their power is comparable. Malgus is a very well rounded force user, male storm, push, pull, choke, lightning, saber throw, cheating death and I wouldn't put it past him that he can use basic mind tricks and all that, Anakin has comparable variety in his powers having all of that minus male storm and lightning, but he makes up for it with force scream, being able to override the will of the force itself, he could subdue both entities of the light AND dark sides of the force and he's able to move really heavy objects with ease(using this to also rag doll certain individuals namely Assaj Ventress and Barris Offee)like the separatist dreadnought in the comics he was able to redirect with no issue so they're equals in my eyes. Duelling skills = Anakin, I feel that his showings are more impressive than Malgus as a pure lightsaber duelist as he bested THE master of makashi for his time in Count Dooku, his mentors hold him as only below Yoda and Mace Windu, he was duelling said makashi master as a fucking padawan and held out for longer than his master, bested the infamous Assaj Ventress as a bloody padawan although she was talented with killing Jedi masters and held her own against Mace bloody Windu and he was credited as being a natural warrior. Malgus isn't particularly bad but I feel his kills come from outlasting his adversaries or having them piss him off just before he engaged them increasing his strength, Satele and Cao Sen Darach = Vindican and Darach dying(the former gave Malgus a power boost as he wanted vengeance for his master), Satele Shan = Malgus won the fight, but he didn't kill her and he only won the duel when he used his force abilities on her when she was off guard and his most famous kill Ven Sallow = he did kill the Jedi, but moments prior he did witness his wife get harmed which fuelled his passion to kill the Jedi that did the deed and nearly killed both of them as Sallow almost stabbed him near the end of their duel so Malgus's victories in said duels is considerable, but for the reasons I have given his skills as a duelist have been largely over-exaggerated I feel. Weaponry = Anakin, though this doesn't really matter all too much tbh but the extra blades on Malgus's lightsaber are cool looking but have no real purpose in battle, Anakin's weapon of choice is standard but because he has given it a different option for length of the blade, it could be helpful in pushing Malgus back. The verdict: Let's say this is more comparable to Malgus's duel with Sallow, but with Anakin in place of Sallow, I feel it would start with Malgus on the attack but Anakin would be able to hold off his assault and when Malgus attempts to kick Anakin in the face, Anakin grabs his foot with his right hand pushing him back into a pillar with the force, Malgus would be staggered momentarily as the 2 engage in a blade lock with Anakin on the offensive, Malgus would try taunting Anakin however this effort would backfire as Anakin broke off the lock and sent him flying backwards into a whole group of Sith with him in the temple and he was met with a huge pillar coming his way. This kills his whole group but not him as he evaded the pillar and immediately got back up to engage Skywalker, but the duel would swiftly end while they are charging one another as Malgus would have his blade above his head, but Anakin would be running low with his blue blade at his side while sliding underneath Malgus and splitting him in half, vertically. And thus, I declare Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one of the force the victor.
