VERTICAL TANK CONVERSION | DIY 20 Gallon Aquarium to Vertical Enclosure

The supplies that I used over the course of this build are:
- A plexiglass sheet
- A plastic cutting knife
- A straight edge
- A razor scraper
- An exacto knife
- A power drill
- 1 can of Great Stuff expanding foam
- Pots and cups for background
- 100% silicone, I used black
- Rubbing alcohol
- Rubber gloves
- Activated Charcoal
- Coco Fibre
- Organic potting soil
- Plants of your choice
- Super glue
- Hinges
- Locking mechanism

Thank yooouuuu sooooooo much this really help pls continue making vids and keep up the amazing work i had previously seen the serpa design vid but this was so much more simple and easy and It gave me the courage to buy the materials and actually do the project serpadesign is like amazing expensive almost impossible diy builds while your vide are simple worry free super cool and really awesome looking vids that are super inspirational i know i wrote a lot but i couldnt express how much i love this channel and how it is very simple and neat i really hope you continue to work on it and continue to grow

Can uvb go through the glass I want to do this but I don't know how to light it properly

No, UVB doesn’t penetrate through glass. This conversion is good for species such as the New Caledonian geckos, who don’t require UVB to thrive. I use an LED light to provide a day/night cycle and to provide light to the plants.

@@makennaadrain803 ah ok, so I can still do the conversion, but I would have to remove the top piece of glass and replace with some mesh then if I need the uvb?

Sadiq Muhammad I believe so, or have it come in through next in the front (in place of drilling holes you may use mesh). I’ve never used UVB with this conversion, so make sure to do your research!

My ambient room temperature is suitable for the species in keeping in it, so I am not heating it. You may try heating it with a adhesive heat pad and thermostat, but I don’t have experience with this.

How come no one goes over lighting!!! I’ve tried arboreal glass enclosures and the lights have cracked my glass!! Help!

It's tough! I just use aquarium LEDs. I've had zero issues so far.

I use aquarium LEDs. Too much heat may crack the glass.

waverindarkness where I live our ambient temperatures are suitable for the species I’m keeping in the enclosure. If you were to heat it, a heat pad on the side would be suitable as long as you have a good thermostat.
