the regular gamut is my edc and has been for acout 2 years now. absolutely amazing quality, it shows almost no signs of wear. i love vertx

Sootch, you missed a very important feature. There is a sleeve in the back that will accommodate a body armor panel. Premiere Body Armor makes a IIIA panel specifically designed for that sleeve, but other panels can fit in it. Then you can use the luggage pass through to make an improvised shield.

@@Matthew_Australia internal frame maybe but I don't think hydration bladder would fit in the sleeve for the armor panel. The left and right zipper pockets can accommodate hydration bladders and have pass-throughs for the tubes. Albeit smaller hydration bladders, 1.5 maybe 2 liter bladders...

I just picked one of these up from Ebay for under $100 shipped brand new. It came in the mail today and I love it. I had the Gamut 2.0 and it just wasn't big enough. Thanks fire the review!

If the overland pack itself is anything like my Gamut Plus, while great quality, it’s heavy before you load it up with your needed/wanted items. I’ve never used my Gamut Plus because of the pack’s weight.

I love the pack but not the price for now. when I get back to work I might have to get one. it looks like a lot of thought went into it. I like how it can hold an AR pistol, and a regular pistol with a Velcro holster. I also like how it has the quick access to the guns.

BEEN PREPPING SINCE JANUARY😁LOVE THESE HELPFUL VIDEOS.ALSO O CARRY A SIMPLE EMPTY CLEAN CAN FROM A CAN OF DOG FOOD POKED HOLE IN SIDES.IN CASE U DON'T WANT THE SMOKE DETECTED IN THE SKY.U CAN SIMPLY MAKE A TWIG FIRE INSIDE TO HEAT SOUPS ,COFFEE!😁🍲🍜☕

This is the only bagpack i like from Vertx due to how comfortable it is. I tried Checkpoint, and the straps weren't comfortable.

A backpack that holds a side arm/pistol is nice. But it helps of i had a side arm. But most people have expensive ones. I'm still looking for a reasonable one.? Like a S&W or Ruger 40..

Went to buy a "baby Yoda" style and they are not on the sight...must have sold out. I really like the green/brown styles...not looking for camo this time around. I have a brown/green sling bag which is really nice (my first sling bag) but it is too small for many of my daily treks.

Almost no packs impress me as they either have too many pockets/sleeves/compartments or not enough, or they're not in the right places. Someone was thinking deeply here and got it right. Too bad the usual camo-color rip-off happens, but everyone does that. The price for basic colors is amazingly low for a pack with this quality and features. Definitely on my bucket-list.

How much padding is on the bottom? Some laptop-style backpacks have padding on the bottom in case the user drops the bag. Does this one have something similar?

I don't know Sootch, isn't Woodland camo like the original "tactical" look? Great backpack, but I'd probably pick up another color, like blue or yellow or something that would be sold at REI.

I agree. The Woodland Camo color is not as discreet as their other color options. But the design is less tactical than a lot of others.

The “overland” must be referring to that camo pattern specifically. I have the baby yoda color pattern. They didn’t have it listed as the “overland”. Just the Gamut. All the features are the same.
