Prisoner violated the no contact order. There are consequences, especially when you come before the same judge again.

"he misses his ex, he misses his kids" Which gives you free range to terrorize someone else apparently according to counsel?

"No imminent danger". Until she upsets him and he goes off on her and the kids. He's not an innocent man; it's no violation of his rights to protect the family from him.

Definitely dangerous 😳 He ignores Judge orders, very likely he will attack. He had nothing to lose.

After my parents divorced, my father was only supposed to have contact with me and my sisters with previous notice and permission or some line like that, but he still attempted to show up at times when my mom would likely be at work so he could force visitation without her present. He was also violent and abusive and we were terrified each time it happened. That’s the reality of cases like this.

The attorney keeps saying that he, the attorney, understands what the judge is saying. But his client sure isn't processing it.

I love how Judge Boyd schools old or late middle aged men that they’d better put up or shut up where domestic violence is concerned. That defense hack kept saying that “nothing happened, nobody was hurt” when his client violated his strict PPO….that is NOT the point, and if he doesn’t know it, then hopefully he knows it now. The woman in the ex-relationship didn’t know whether or not he was planning to be violent! and it _could_ have gone very badly, which the defense hack refused to see.

The man has a history of domestic violence. Judge Boyd gave him a no contact order and the woman was terrorized when he broke it. Did he physically hurt her? No. Did he psychologically hurt her? Absolutely. It _could_ have gone very badly, and she had every reason to believe it would. That's why she got a protective order after he made contact. The defense attorney said his client agreed to it, as if he had a choice. Glad Judge Boyd jailed this monster.

It's not that he doesn't understand it - he doesn't like it so he's not going to obey the order.

That lawyer literally tried to mansplain to Judge Boyd how relationships work. And also: Judge Boyd knows that defendant could end up killing the wife he "loves" so much.

There was already an order not to contact from the judge, another piece of paper, tpo, will not stop him. Judge Boyd usually doesn't get upset about probation violators, she is showing she isn't happy with this offender. No more probation, goto to jail, he won't go there because he will be in jail. He violated, he should get what he was told when given the gift of probation.

Ask the defense attorney if he is willing to bet a years salary that his client will not violate his probation....

Why give him a month of home confinement, gps and more time on probation. It doesn't solve the main problems, which is his inability to let her go. He should be in jail, can't follow the most basic rule of probation...it won't stop here.

I have absolutely zero tolerance for anyone who "can't let go". People fall in love together. For some mysterious reason some folks think that means their significant other can't ever fall out of love. Well that's nonsense and everybody in the room knows it. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. There's no shame nor stigma in just moving on. The proven fact that this loser can't move on? The only safe place for him is in prison. I am disappointed he was only sentenced to four years. I would have wanted a sentence in the 12-15 year range but sometimes we take what we can get and call it a day.

I appreciate judges like Boyd. People who are violent that then go on to disregard the rules set by the court to not have contact with the person they assaulted are prone to reoffend.

I'm so glad he got his 4 years. His attorney kept saying no harm was done. Apparently he doesn't know about PTSD and reoccurring trauma caused by an abuser who just suddenly appears on your doorstep. Also, the argument that he's had time to think well he's 45 years old he's had a lifetime this thing, apparently he's never turned on his brain. Hopefully he'll be bullied in prison and learn what it's like to be on the other side of the fence for a change, maybe then and only then he'll develop some embassy. He looks like prison material to me

Is anyone else getting weary of defense attorneys saying "I understand."? Who cares if the attorney understands? It is the defendant who needs to understand and that happens rarely.🐞

It would be a lot different if an average person was having trouble getting over an ended relationship when it seemingly ends without an major , clear, incident - however, how selfish do you have to be to, how audacious to question why a person that you abused doesn’t want to be with you anymore. You’re sad about that? Grow up. You don’t not assault someone that you claim you love, end of. Furthermore, the court did you a favour the first time around and let you back out into the free world even after you were found guilty, and instead, you thought ‘who care what they say, I’ll do what I want’ and NOW you’re upset and surprised you’re going to jail?
