I love how there are people commenting stating that it's unethical to reinstall this clients hair knowing it's damage. As a stylist, your job is to educate and serve. I am sure this client is aware of what is style is doing to her hair. However, it's her choice not the stylist. This stylist is not damaging her hair. It's the techniques and tools that are being used at home. We judge stylist to hard, but fail to analyze ourselves.

You braided the hair whilst it was damp, does that not create the scalp to get fungus? Also the weave looked like it had heavy grease on it, giving a stringy type of look. Besides that the end result looked nice with a slight blended look of colour.
@JenniferCynthiaHair
@JenniferCynthiaHair 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for your comment and yes the hair was nearly dry when braided. I believe fungus develops with bacteria present so it’s impossible for this to happen if the hair and scalp is cleaned properly. No oil was added to the weave, the grade of the weave can affect the movement/finished look.

We used a new set. And you have to wash the old weave if you plan on reusing them. You can soak over night in shampoo before shampooing and conditioning them properly.

No judgment, I’m just curious why the client got the front relaxed but left the rest of the hair to transition. Is she not worried about what that will look like once it all tries to grow out? What’s the logic behind that? I’ve never seen that
@deenad3562
@deenad3562 2 жыл бұрын
She likely wanted to relax the edges to a straighter texture like the weave since it may be more visible up close and get moist from washing your face, etc. And the front hair/edges is usually the slowest to grow so it may eventually coincide with the growing out of her other hair.

Hi Jennifer!!!!! What amazing hair job you do!!! I have painful stories related to my hair. I had been through everything to make my hair looks good; I had used extensions, wigs...strong relaxers, false braids, but a short time ago I came up with the decision to treat carefully my natural hair! I wish I were in the UK to be part of your real magic, so I beg you to suggest me how to continue with my hair. Right now I´m using Keratine treatment as it is very good for my hair and I´m using as well a relaxer hair cream. Some hair sections are totally relaxed and others do not. I´d love to come to visit you!!! Do you have an email address? Love you!

@@JenniferCynthiaHair yes I have tried braiding both damp and dry. Braiding damp hair breaks easily also clumpy as it looks in your video and dry hair is non breaking and smoother to maintain but whatever works for you and your clients is fine. I'm more of maintaining natural
@JenniferCynthiaHair
@JenniferCynthiaHair 3 жыл бұрын
I agree - if the hair is breaking/damaging it’s better to braid blow dried. Also if your not very skilled/experienced at braiding it’s better to braid dry. In this case the hair was healthy and dense and had a lot of regrowth from chemical relaxer. I didn’t want to do the braid pattern small, so braiding it damp allowed me to do the braid pattern big and keep it flat at the same time
