Get an additional battery and keep the charged not different to putting fuel in on. Not sure how that’s a win for the petrol scarifier.

For a beginner, what would a simple yearly calendar look like? As in, when to Weed'n'Feed, when to scarify, when to overseed and fix bald patches. Awesome videos by the way. I'm learning loads.

Get yourself an Eliet 401 scarifier. Amazing! Built like a tank but compact would easily do massive lawns, with infinite height adjust. Insanely powerful. Honda engine.

Dan, You are one of few I'd trust with this... I am about to try a light application of Magnesium Sulphate on the back yard for the first time for a tick deeper green colour. Any reservations / suggestions with that? e.g.: don't do it, or - try a small test area first... etc...

@@19davidwinter88 if its going to cause damage then id hold off as recovery time going to be slower, wet unfirm ground and scarifiers can cause issues

This is my first year looking after my lawn and it sure was difficult. Come January/February I plan on purchasing a scarifier in order to take my lawn care to the next step, however, for now, I have some Miracle grow 4-in-1 left and I was wondering if a light application before the end of the month will prove beneficial? I applied it back in early June and had to contend with a lot of moss, however, hopefully this won’t be an issue come 2024 what with my plans of purchasing the scarifier and hopefully some of dans products and some seaweed. Any advice most appreciated. Love the channel and all the effort put in to it - thank you.

Cheerz much appreciated i would never recommend a 4- in one but if thats all you have then yeah would help keep moss and weeds in check only thing is i think they are not that accurate

@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert no, I totally appreciate that and thought as much. Like I say, come the beginning of next year I’ll be looking invest in some of your magic formulas so hopefully that’ll be the start of great things to come. Another quick question if you don’t mind. If I do decide to apply a light application of the above tat, do I run the risk of potential lawn blackening which would leave the lawn looking a little worse for wear for a few months?

Whats the square meters of this side lawn? I'm guessing roughly 30m x 5m so 150 sq mtrs? Strange set up with the other side front lawn acting as the front lawn for another house.

With what seems (up north anyway) relentless damp conditions this year can you forsee a particular strategy ward off damage in the coming months? I know here you're thinning but what about height of cut? Would reduce help or is that just P in wind so to speak. Some of my new seeded areas just struggle to dry regardless of the short recent Indian summer.

@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert Sounds like a plan, the weather is neither one thing or another so it must be humidity or the like as despite the tips being dry you just know that moisture lurks below that's easily drawn upward as you stand or mow. Rotary with its suction fairs ok but webb cylinder I just got baulks at grass trying to bond and flatten together.

This is the petrol v EV car debate but with lawnmowers. You’ll getting mowing anxiety with the battery mower as people do with EV cars. Petrol cars/mowers just fill them up, clean the carb every winter, job done.. You really don’t think, or believe, the battery mowers will take over do you?

I dont think they will for that reason but fuel will run out one day so we will have to move but i dont want 10 batteries in my van at 600 each to run a rotary all day

@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert no chance that petrol will ever run out as oil will never run out. Petrol is a light distillate so even if they ban cars from using it, they will still have to produce it before they get everything else out of the oil.

@@lukeheatley4148 about 15 yrs ago i saw a programme in which total said they had about 20 years of oil left!! So dont be so sure, maybe the gov are pushing electric not for environment but because they know oils running out, why are all the middle east countries, saudi qatar who have more money than god suddenly finding new revenue schemes? Maybe they know oils running out very soon?? Just a push back comment which may have some truth in it!
