Top tip: teach Rocket to trade. It's not a good idea to just take things from a puppy. This teaches them to run away from you whenever they get hold of something very exciting and naughty, and can ultimately lead to resource guarding. Instead, always trade for an object of equal or greater value. NB. The value of a reward is determined by the dog, so you need to experiment to get an idea of which things he sees as more valuable. Make a game of it, practising regularly for short periods. Keep it fun, and you'll have a dog that eagerly runs to you with his treasures to trade. I just can't overemphasise what a game-changer this is.

I have a fly spray recipe! •Apple cider vinegar •a bit of dishwashing liquid •mint essence •abit horse or normal hair detangler .vegetable oil Litteraly ever since we started using it no fly’s have touched our horses. We were sceptical at first but it’s meant to be really strong so be generous with the mint essence. Works like a miracle. Good Luck!

Hi, natural fly repellent recipe... 1 cup apple cider vinegar, 2 cups of water and 1-2 tablespoon of horse shampoo or dr bronners castile soap so the liquid adheres slightly to the coat and main. 20 to 30 drops of pure essential oils, you can use lavender, peppermint and citronella. Use a mix of all 3 or individually. See if your horse is ok with them. Pop in spray bottle, shake well. Do a test patch first as the apple cider vinegar may sting if open cuts. Xxx

Oh my gosh that was so funny lunging cloudy but Harlow made me so nervous with all the loops in her hand!!! 🙈a few years back my pony tanked off with me and I had my rope like that and he dislocated my wrist which meant I couldnt ride for like 8 months, so just be careful!!! Love your little stable block it's cute. For fly spray I use water, dettol and apple cider vinegar. But you could put citronella oil in and lemon grass with the vinegar if your wanting something more natural

A good natural fly repelant is coconut oil! Just rub it on your hands and apply small amounts where the bugs like to linger. But I wouldn’t put it on open wounds or thin parts of the skin since it could burn with the sun. Just something to be mindful about 😊

Lunging tip for Cloudy: Maybe look for a line that's a bit shorter but thicker and heavier. I don't know what they would be called in english or where one could buy them in the UK but it's not like a thick "Natural horsemanship" kind of line but something in between that and a regular lunge line. A line like that should make it much easier to establish a clearer connection when lunging and it's not as messy to manage in the off hand either. Should make jumping in hand a good bit easier to manage as well. I think ours is like an 18mm thick round braided line normally used for boats, 10-ish meters long.
