I just love this type of relatable content. This is real life, real time stuff, none of that social media fakery that some people present on their channels. I just love that even when you're clearly having a bit of a rough time with sleep and feeling exhausted, you still manage to smile and try be positive. It's so admirable, because I'm such a miserable b*stard half the time 🤣🤣.

🥹🥹 this means a lot to me, thank you! Like you say, this is just LIFE for a lot of us, the daily grind, but also to small moments of joy and happiness in the everyday. It’s nice to know that non of us are doing this on our own, and that we’re not “failing” for not having this or that that we see on social media! It’s all a load of rubbish 😂🫶🏼 And in the sleep thing… honestly, I can be a moody gal, TRUST ME, but I TRY to be as positive as possible! It’s all a phase, it’s all a phase, it’s all a phase 😂🥹♥️

You inspire me to keep going, I appreciate you sharing the daily struggles, makes me feel less alone. Hugs from a fellow sleep deprived mum

Messages like this truly inspire me to keep going and carry on sharing these mundane motherhood moments 🙈 I hope you get through the sleep deprivation mama, it’s a hard ride but I promise you’re not a lot in this 🥹 there’s thousands of us doing exactly the same thing, just houses apart ♥️

You are absolutely amazing. I agree, she was probably hungry but, like they always do, she has now cracked it. She is doing really well. Once she has a big bottle at bedtime and you stop the night feeds, sleep will return. Carry on speaking with your new friend Liv, your toddlers are a similar age and talking to each other will help support both of you….. 😊

Eating solids may not be it. My son barely ate any solids at all until 12 months no matter what we tried but he was sleeping all night at least 11hrs straight since he turned 6 months, and has ever since until now that he’s 15 months. And from 4.5-6 months he was only waking once. I sleep trained super early starting at 2 months.

You are smashing it. My 2.5 yo is vety similar to George with his nights. Does he have any bother with tonsils/mouth breathing? Ive had loads of people tell me that there are lots of links between that, poor sleep, night terrors and hyperactive type behavious. Often the hyperactivity is linked to tiredness from the poor sleep, or so im told. My son has enlarged tonsils but ENT not doing anything 🤦‍♀️ xx

Hi Shan. We had our 2nd kid 2 months ago. We have an EV car now and it saves so much time because we don't have to drive and fill up at the petrol station. Also in winter the car automatically defrost the windows and preheat the car and that saves time too. Leasing an EV is so Cheap at the moment as well. Something which might save you time

If you believe G may have additional needs you need to get him on waiting lists like yesterday…you might already have done this behind the scenes but just a heads up from a SEN mum. Get a referral from the doc for a paediatrician NOW if you haven’t already, speak to the SENCO at his nursery too which I’m hoping you already have. Everything takes so long it’s a matter of urgency x

For George’s legs, have you tried magnesium? It’s a natural muscle relaxant so it can help if they’re aching. Helps with muscles bones and the nerve system. You can get it in spray or liquid to take orally from Holland and Barrett or Amazon. Obviously, if you don’t feel comfortable giving it to him, check with the doctor. It helps us sleep.

Hey Mamas! I feel this is a very supportive group with great advice and was wondering if anyone has advice for dealing with guilt/fear with regards to sending kids to nursery. My eldest will be 3 in June and everyone is telling me to send her to nursery in August but as she is Autistic, non verbal and has sensory issues I am simply terrified of leaving her with strangers, she also wears nappies and the thought of someone changing her freaks me out! I thought since George has been in daycare since he was a baby that maybe Shan may have some advice or some of the Mamas in this group could help? PS. Shan, you are an inspiration as a Mama and I have been taking your advice on mothering for 3 years and watching this channel since you were pregnant with George which is why I feel safe discussing this here ❤

I had the exact same with my daughter - even same age ! I think it’s totally up to you whether you send her or not - don’t let anyone sway you ! I did end up sending my daughter as it was a place in a specialist nursery where they had lots of extra support for her in terms of speech and language help, lots of adults around and it was exactly what she needed ! It broke my heart to send her and made me feel so guilty - but she did 3 hours a day and really enjoyed it and learnt lots that I couldn’t teach her at home - like taking turns and sharing ! I think it’s all down to how you feel about that particular nursery too - will they meet her needs ? Do you feel confident in their abilities ? Will they help you with the EHCP process if that’s something you’re looking into ? Do they do makaton or what ever you think would help your child ? You totally have a right to ask the nursery all the questions you want to feel comfortable sending her I hope that’s somewhat helpful and not too overwhelming! Good luck with whatever you choose❤ remember you’re doing your best and that’s more than enough ❤

Hey Molly, I’m so glad you felt you could come here to chat with us, you’re so right, this is a safe space ♥️ It’s think it sounds like a great idea to look into ASN nurseries if you do want to go down the childcare route. They will be so understanding of how you’re feeling and I can promise you that you won’t be the only one! Everyone’s situation is so different but only you will know what is right for your little one and your family, whatever you decide will be the right choice ♥️ Good luck with it all lovely xxxx

I never sent my daughter to nursery because of them very things. I could of written this myself. My daughter who is autistic, was offered the free hours of childcare and I wasn't comfortable with sending her given her speech delay, nappies and meltdowns. When she was 3, i ended up taking her to nursery. I seen massive differences with her development. The worries never went though. Being around other children her age was brilliant for her. She is 5 now and is talking very well. She has been in school since she was 4. Conversation skills are coming on and she has a echp for her care in school. She still wears nappies and they deal with it. She is getting on so well. But the worries have never left me. Overthinking is life now and its not easy at all. But motherhood isn't supposed to x

Hi Shan my son has a neurodivergent diagnosis and I have been diagnosed with adhd as an adult, I also look after children under 5s some with probable additional needs so happy to chat if you ever need any support. It’s tough going and a minefield to get anywhere unfortunately! In my area adhd isn’t looked into until age 6 which is ridiculous really as they pass a lot off as toddler behaviour but I definitely had the instinct with my son from very young, but that’s nhs for you. I love your content as someone else said it’s relatable we all as mums have been through what you say, go through. Xx

I have hypermobility but neither of our kids are diagnosed because is Covid, my eldest started walking at 15 months old , crawling and sitting up at 9 months but by 15 months old she could hold a full conversation with us, and at 19 months she was like a full blown toddler like you would expect a 2-3 year old to be, she’s now 3 and sooo clever and so far advanced compared to the other children at nursery put only just potty trained- they all get there in the end and once they go to school no one will ask when they started doing things youngest started walking a week before he turned 18 months but didn’t start sitting up or crawling until just as he turned one and he’s now 19 months and still a bit wobbly, and he also doesn’t say very much

Hi Shan, something has been bothering me whilst watching a few of your videos lately. Your the best and I care so much. You mentioned about Halle's longer fingers and her hypermobility. It is absolutely probably not related at all but a condition called Marfan's syndrome keeps popping into my head when you speak about it. I just want you to be aware and Its hard to say something as don't want you or anyone to think I'm trying to diagnose or that anything is wrong because it is all probably perfectly fine but not saying anything has been eating me up too. It really comes from a good place. I know you would want any information you could to ensure you get the best for Halle IF there was anything to be concerned about. I feel awful saying anything. I hope you don't mind. I know iv also rambled. Also I love your channel so much ❤️

For Hypermobility, Jeannie Di Bon on KZfaq, The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK and the Ehlers Danlos Society are great resources. It is a genetic disorder affecting collagen and is lifelong, there isn't a cure but you can do physio and strengthening to help limit pain. You can also work out tools that help you such as heat pads, support braces and taping. Having an understanding of this will help you and will help your daughter, there can be many more effects than just being a bit bendy, for example stretchy skin, slow gut motility, etc.
