Vespasian's attack on Jotapata is remembered as a classic of Roman seige tactics. Week after week their attacks were repulsed by the Jews. When Vespasian 'testudo' tactic fails, he calls upon his son Titus to turn the situation around. The descent of a thick fog finally gives Titus and his men the opportunity to approach the fortress undetected. Having scaled the walls, Titus and his men then set about crushing the rebellion. Contains scenes of moderate violence. Dramatic clip taken from the BBC dramatised documentary Ancient Rome: Rise and Fall of an Empire. Also Domitian may not have been a good man but he was not a terrible Caesar, despite his unpopularity in the Senate. Resume as follows... Expanded the empire by 2 provinces Found gold in the Arabian peninsula Restructured the coinage system. Stabilized the economy. Replenished all of Titus' disaster relief programs, then added more and ushered in the era of Pax Romanus (Peace in Rome)

I have to be careful. I do have a university degree in history but never used it (in IT now) so my knowledge can be outdated or not applicable to that region. We were thought oil was only used at sea. On land, they used boiled water mixed with some sand or fine sand only during sieges. Sand was added because it got in the armor, was difficult to remove so it created wounds that are prone to infection. They normally had a large stockpile of dried wood available because houses were mostly made of wood. Then again, I’m a European so the situation could be totally different in the east. You use what you have, I guess.

@@karthikvs9635 The Romans allowed them their religious freedom. This is the reason the Romans brought down the hammer on their rebellion and exiled them from Judea. They had their religious freedom, their taxes also bought them the protection of Rome, and they were ruled by other Jews who served as vassals of Rome rather than be ruled by Rome directly. They enjoyed more autonomy than just about any other client kingdoms of Rome at the time. Ungrateful bastards. ;)

To let everyone know that Flavius Josephus is the False Prophet of Revelation, he is part of the 2nd Beast of Revelation with Qasr Vespasian. He was calling for the rebuilding of the Temple which created the 1st schism. This produced three early Church members: corrupted ones (Revelation 9), Lukewarm and Zealous ones (who followed strictly John 2:18-22, that Jesus is the Temple, Revelation 21:22). This schism is one of the main three Heresies (the other two: Sabbath "Christians" and spiritual only resurrection "Christians). Armegeddon, in Revelation 16:16, was about the battle of Yodfat/Jotopata where the False Prophet and Vespasian met. Flavius Josephus predicted that Vespasian would overcome 3 other kings (emperors), he is the False Prophet primarily because he rejects Jesus as the final Messiah and God. Now, we are living between Revelation 18 and 19. Revelation 19, Jesus returns.

I see a lot of Roman influence everyday in this world and in most countries-especially at western world and "Land of Israel" was part of the Roman state for almost 700 years ! That is not something you can erase just by saying Jews are still living there now while Romans are not.

Big Guy Having said that, both in The Old Testament and the New Testament, in the Last Days Israel was to reborn and thus it was in 1948. Now watch and pay attention because soon the Ezekiel 38 war will be coming.

Big Guy And some of the leading end times theological minds on the planet. Not to mention Bible prophecy. And Jews are coming to this knowledge as well, but at the moment it is a stream ☺

@1969cmo If you are referring also to the pagan Non Testament and Jeesuck's "knowledge", it will remain a "stream" for several reasons e.g. the Jewish counter-missionary efforts, the Christians that leave their religion and join the Jewish people and the pervasive accessibility of the actual Scriptural facts of the Jewish Bible on the internet thanks to countermissionary books that were uploaded to cyberspace like Faith Strengthened, which were much less accessible prior to the information age.
