Some of the early production models of the Vestax PDX-2000 have a known motor issue that causes a rumble/vibration when you hold a record with the platter spinning. The problem can be more noticeable on certain cartridges or sound systems and there are many forum posts about it.
I found a guide on vinylengine.com but was not able to download it because they don't allow new registrations, but luckily I found a forum post that described the exact diodes and resistors that need to be replaced!
The fix ended up being quite easy and took less than an hour, so I hope this helps someone else out there.
