I've studied the Poland campaign 1939 (great book= The Eagle Unbowed) Poland was to hold the Germans for two weeks so France could attack Germany's lightly defended west, followed by Britain. They both pussed out. Poland held for FOUR WEEKS even after the Soviets invaded on Sept 17th. They stayed at Wizna facing overwhelming odds expecting the allies to attack. They were betrayed and paid with their lives. I'm proud this is part of my family's history.

Also the spirits of Spartan line comes from the fact that the Polish people called it, the Polish Thermopolie , and considered a matter of Polish pride.

The story of the Battle of Wizna is downright amazing. 720 Poles under Wladyslaw Raginis digging in their heels in a hastily constructed and far from finished fortress line with limited AT-weaponry (2 AT-rifles) and holding on for 3 days until most bunkers were destroyed and the final two finally ran out of ammunition to fight against the advancing Germans. Oh and the majority were conscripts too.

Really enjoyed your reaction and I agree.. The line when they say "Always remember father and sons who faught" is powerful. A Top of that the music has energy that winds U up. There is a really interesting history behind this video, not only about the battle of Visna, but also about making the music video. Sabaton history to check out

The title shows the situation at the beginning II WW . There were 720 Polish soldiers in the Battle of Wizna, they fought with over 40,000 German soldiers. They defended themselves for 3 days ...........I am proud to be Polish :D

You have a typo: Gudarian's Panzer Corps was over 40,000 - After the Polish Campaign the Germans reorganized its Panzer Division replacing 2 Bns of Panzers with Infantry Bns - Lessons learned from how the Poles stalled them, they needed more Infantry in the Panzer Divisions.

Polish infantry outnumbered 40:1 and the Germans were ready for a fight. The polish Army held them back for 7 days. The kind of determination that those men had must have been truly unshakable.

Hi, Im former polish navy officer, In my opinion really veteran is a soldier which he participated in a real War, but in USA every soldieras are veterans its quite funny. Dont be angry but in my opinion You are a former soldier not veteran. Best regards,
