Hey. God here. I'm coming up with a nerf list in response to the overly high competitiveness of this kind of bot after the most recent rubber physics patch: - Distance of ball launch reduced by %36 as per community vote - Torque cap flipper now has a warm up time of 5.5 seconds - Torque cap flipper has a %6 faster reset time - Speed intake RPM reduced by %11.5 - Drive wheels now have %16 less traction - Drive motors now move %9 faster and have %18.7 more Torque output - Dead weight increased by %11 This will definitely change the meta, and how these bots will have to adapt to stay competitive. It will be interesting, to say the least.

When you realize these guys bent a boxed metal channel with only a handful of rubber bands... But their robot is stupidly op so it all cancels out.

What is a bling drive? We were planning on doing almost the same robot, so you guys definitely gave us some great ideas. Thanks!!!!

A bling drive is referring to the locked Omni center wheels on our robot. We put couplers into the rollers so they can act as improved traction wheels and prevent us from being pushed sideways.

wait you guys should definitely consider making those standoff forks longer so it could be used as a sort of lift so you can get 2 robots on center park

@garageghost60385 жыл бұрын
18in is only the starting size. After that you can expand more (there are specific rules to that in this game, I'd suggest checking out the rules on the vex website)

How does the catapult stay down during the match after auton if the lock is only a one-time use?
@LachlanDavidsonPhotography5 жыл бұрын
Motor power. Specifically with a P controller.
@prestonmeek79055 жыл бұрын
When the launcher launches the balls are the gears still making contact? This is probably a dumb question..
@williamacourt4055 жыл бұрын
Our catapult design uses slip gears. These are gears with some of the teeth filed off. When the catapult gets pulled back past a certain point it hits the 'slip' part of the gear so the gears are no longer engaging with the catapult, so the elastics pull the catapult up and it fires. This is a pretty common design and is used in the majority of punchers and catapults, you should be able to find many other examples online.

Who’s watching in 240P But anyways nice bot, that Intake does seem a little odd coming from a team also using a double catapult
@sufficient__5 жыл бұрын
How do those hooks on your catapult work, and why does your intake run at the same time you fire?
@williamacourt4055 жыл бұрын
The hooks are elastically pulled down and are held in place by the catapult pushing upwards. When the catapult is lowered the hooks get pulled down by the elastics leaving them out of the way for the catapult to fire. We used to have some issues with balls not properly loading occasionally, the intake spins when we fire to ensure that the balls are fully in their slots.
@sufficient__5 жыл бұрын
@@williamacourt405 That's pretty cool, but does that mean they can't reengage after your first shot?
@williamacourt4055 жыл бұрын
@@sufficient__ Yep, you're totally correct. All they're designed to do is hold the catapult down so it can instantly fire in autonomous. In driver control the catapult is held down constantly with motor power instead.
@ryden.o5 жыл бұрын
How does your catapult lock work if it doesnt use any motors?

why not 8m drive since you are using v4 and have 2 extra motors
@williamacourt4055 жыл бұрын
The robot shown in this video was far from what we had initially intended in terms of design. By the time we converged on this design for medium quality it wasn't really worth it for us to switch to 8m as medium quality's death was so soon. If we were to build a medium quality v2, it would definitely be 8m drive.

Nz teams often like to keep their designs private up until nationals. This is supported by our EPs and so teams blur other robots to prevent upsetting the other teams and the EPs. If you want more examples look at matches on the wingus and dingus channel.
