I never stopped collecting, 33 vcrs and 3200 tapes; bring it on Disney + and Hulu, you either rent, or own.

I had never thought that VHS would make a comeback in our lifetime.

Vhs is the closest thing to a time machine we have.everytime I watch one I feel like I'm transported to a more innocent time.the first vcr I bought in 1984 was$300 and new tapes were like 20 to 30 dollars.one reason video rental places took off at first was the high price for tapes.

I love this! I watched VHS a ton growing up, so this was a real throwback. It was very interesting to learn about this community I was sorely unaware of. I've seen the community surrounding old video games but did not consider the demand, and value, of some old VHS tapes. The custom art was incredible btw! I'm blown away by the passion and inspiration that went into creating those.

I hope VHS does come back they were so much easier to controll and seemed to have better sound, also they were great for recording. Ease of use unlike tacki difficult to forward and rewind DVD's.🤑

So true. I've bought 3 hdmi vhs vcr combos since 2021

I've thought about collecting VHS before because of the ads for other movies in the beginning. Even if you don't want to watch the movies in the ads they have their own charm to them. They are a time capsule of "Coming Soon" for a movie that is 30 years old. I already collect manga and books though, so I worry I won't have the room for all of the tapes I would like. Also say you would like to have a disney collection, but many of the movies are now only physically on dvd. So would you also buy dvds to continue? I'm a completionist so if I start collecting I worry I would go too ham.

Little Mermaid is $10 or so. There has been artificially inflated Disney "sold" listings for many years. Some groups are doing this with Beanie Babies. Her stuff is laid out, kerned, and manufactured nice, but the designs themselves are not great.

My mystery VHS tape is one that I won during a McDonald's promo game in the 80's. My parents told me not to unwrap the outside packaging as to retain its value; to this day it remains sealed, so I have no idea what movie it is. Many times I've resisted the urge to open it. Can I get some votes on whether to open it or leave it sealed?

There’s tons for like $1-$30 😂. an example of a real vhs grail is like an evangelion movie or sum and those would be start priced at like $400-1k depending on the condition and or sealed edit: anybody who has listed a black diamond disney vhs tape that high had no idea what they were doing and only did it bc they were told it was worth something by the news (forgot who covered it)

Vhs tapes don't lock up at all like internet does everything proven broken vhs tape itself is fixable with Scotch tape it starts playing again with out no problem's everything proven online now days

Why are you supporting this blatant copywrite infringer? There are actual companies trying to revive the VHS love and getting the rights and doing it legit. Witter Entertainment is one of them. Kadi Video is a punk cashing in on peoples nostalgia. Her prices are preposterous. Witter is legit and charges less for OFFICIAL VHS releases.
