With lockdowns all over the world in full swing, I cancelled all but one work trip, for, on this trip, I had to both salvage the progress of my own research, and help implement a system to help hospitals communicate with each other. I took this opportunity to also document the reality that is traveling during an effective quarantine in Canada, with Air Canada.

He said he cleared standby, he doesn't pay to get a seat. Since he said he is a med student means he doesn't work for the company, so he must have a friend that does.

@@ChicagoPilotProductions Just to be clear, while I do have some friends who work for Air Canada, they have no effect on my travel options. I fly for work as part of my research, and we have corporate sponsors who pay for the travel expenses. I also have Altitude status with Air Canada, which is what allows me to get on standby and upgrade lists for no fee.

Huh? What is similar beyond the fact both are Asian men?? VV is so much more articulate, thoughtful, wry, and informative. And he is a natural storyteller. All qualities sadly lacking in Mr Chui...and many other air travel commentators, frankly.

I took this exact flight from YVR to YYZ a few months ago (787/ business) it was absolutely packed. The lounge was also absolutely packed. And there were proper food service, ordered from menu. It was quite strange to see so few people... Also you are the funniest aviation youtuber I have ever seen.

Very good educational video. Thank you for sharing. I personally won’t travel by plane within Canada unless of extenuating circumstances with my elderly parents who are cared for and watched over at a wonderful retirement home in North Toronto. I live in Vancouver. I’m going to wait this out and focus on universal collective community supporting each other

Hello VV. You offer the best travel reviews out there. The videos are informative and entertaining. I've watched other similar videos but find most of the reviewers mostly obnoxious. I especially dislike the ones where the reviewer doesn't talk. It's like watching a foreign language film. I'm eager to see more.

I think I am agree with many of comments here that this video is great, but I won't compare your channel with Sam Chui because I know, you have your own values to hold on, so do Sam Chui. You have to have a business for which you have to travel. Like a youtube channel or a free wordpress blog. Then airlines get you through any travel restrictions. When your business case is essentially flying and visiting hotels.

Just flew from Sf to Denver (had to fly back injured, older relative. Not coronavirus related). Really odd to see SFO and DIA ghost towns. Tons of empty seats on United and could move seats freely. No TSA lines, barely any cars picking up/dropping off, all airport stores closed that are not “essential”. And I wore an n95 mask and gloves as many others did on the flight. Odd times....

Just putting the fact out there, surgical masks will stop filtering anything after 2.5 hours of use. It's very well characterized in studies and you can find research articles about it on PubMed.

I certainly agree that your channel is exactly No 1 in so many terms. Noel Phillips and Paul Lucas are both very interesting indeed to study and Dennis Bunnick is pretty good as well but you really nail it. Humour in so many cases that it appeals to us strange people ‘across the pond’ in the UK. Excellent young man and keep it going, when things are normal once again, which it will be, that I want to use my ETA to visit Canada. Bon voyage and stay safe

I used to work in airline catering. The box shit in domestic is always garbage. in International economy (at least for Air Canada) frozen and heated back up in flight (can't remember special meals though). Also used to work the ramp, it is true about the water used in coffee/tea, the water in the aircraft pipes is question despite being potable.
