In this episode, Shane Smith travels to Greenland with climate scientist Jason Box to investigate why the glaciers are melting, and how the resulting rise in sea level will devastate our world sooner than expected. Regarding the crazy and well documented part about the global warming issues, please tell Shane Smith that he should let Peter Brabeck-Letmathe know about this so he can go set up a Nestle shop close by and gather all that water so he can resell it back to the poor and those that done have the right to free, clean water www.freedomsphoenix.com/Uploads/Graphics/129-0422085618-nestle-no-more-water.jpg

Vice, why don't you cover animal agriculture as a cause of this global warming? Why do you show a clip of traffic when all forms transportation combined account for about 13% of GHG emissions, while animal agriculture (the meat and dairy industries) causes 51%? In discussions in reducing climate change, it seems that most media sources only want to tell us that our cars are the problem, giving us a feeling of helplessness as many (at least in the U.S.) need to drive to get to work and to meet all the demands of daily life in general. We need to focus on things we have the power to change dramatically. All it would take to cut out 51% of greenhouse gas emissions is to stop supporting the meat and dairy industries entirely, which could be possible overnight in theory as products of those industries are completely unnecessary to the human diet.

It's sad that VICE combined both the stories☹️. The story of bonded labors in Pakistan should get a separate episode. I have read a lot about why Pakistan was formed, why partition happened and I found that 'zamindaari' or landlordship I may call it was one of the primary reasons - Not Islam in danger of which was Jinnah's rhetoric. If that was the case India wouldn't have been left with more numb r of Muslims that Pakistan today. I think the Pakistani people have been exploited badly by the 'muhajirs' or the urdu speaking immigrants from India. The education level has gone so damn bad that it's inevitable that something bad happens from inside country. Feels bad to the land of the great Indus Valley civilization is in such a poor state. God bless them!

Johannes carling When it becomes a EU country like Denmark, it wouldnt be a bright idea to invade it as theirs many countries that are friendly and will help Denmark economically and military wise. When it becomes a country in the middle east its different as their not part of an organisation and countries in the middle east are afraid of USA. In the EU they're not so afraid and will kill if they have to.

Maybe when the climate change deniers saying nature is a 'hoax' realize there is only so much room on the spaceship to Mars will they realize that its the RIGHT thing to do to take care of earth and live in harmony with it.

What does he mean nobody wins if the sea rises?; I live at an altitude of 300 meters, so there's no way I'll be under water even if every bit of ice on the earth melts. But if it melt's that would bring the sea closer to me, so more opportunities for seaside tourist business, there would be less dry land, so my land would be more valuable, the traffic through panama and suez canal would be faster and cheaper etcetera. Global sea rise is bad, we all know that but there are still a few positive sides to it.

Many of our ports had to be shut down last year (in Nuuk, and in Paamuit) for the first time since the 60s because the water froze over and ships were stuck in place. Much of the black ice mentioned was caused by oil barred under the ice that has risen. Last summer, I flew into Kangerlussuaq to connect a flight to Copenhagen and saw much of the black ice they showed in the interview. I can assure that majority of the "blackness" is not fault of humanity. Even in school, they tell students its caused heating and cooling phases that the Earth receives and the Greenlandic parliament refuses to offer environmentalist/researchers any help with funding. However, if this ends up being true to the extent they say, at least we'll be able to continue growing potatoes. A few years ago, some Danes introduced a hybrid potato plant that was able to handle the Greenlandic winters. The current temperature right now, iss -13 and snowing.... so yeah, it gets pretty cold here. :P

First Time I actually became aware of the amount of Ice melting in Greenland, was when I watched the Chasing Ice documentary a few years back. And man I gotta say, I have never been more shocked and mesmerized probably in my whole life. In one shot you had 2 researchers camp out on top of a ice mountain, trying to catch the Ice falling on camera a few miles away from them. They waited for a few days I believe, and just as they were about to give up and leave... the ice dropped. The scene literally looked and sounded like the Apocalypse was about to begin. Millions of tons of ice was falling. whole Titanic size icebergs (lol :P) were twisting and turning, going completely right side up and then plummeting to the depths of the sea. The event happened for over half an hour I believe, and during watching that whole scene, my jaw was dropped the whole entire time, just amazed by the sheer power of mother earth. Highly recommend this fantastic documentary to everyone. We really need to wake up and deal with this situation as a whole. or else most of earth will be a modern day Atlantis... ♫ Under the sea, Under the sea ♫

THIS IS WHY THAT IS MELTING: At least five major ice ages have occurred throughout Earth's history: the earliest was over 2 billion years ago, and the most recent one began approximately 3 million years ago and continues today (yes, we live in an ice age!). Currently, we are in a warm interglacial that began about 11,000 years ago.

Havilah Gold We have our hand in it as well, but not to the degree left wingers say...without evidence.

Havilah Gold Where's your evidence to support your claim? Almost every scientist agrees that this climate change 100% man made. But you know better than them?

Actually you're wrong. We do have something to do with global warming no about it. But to say that 100% of warming is caused by humans is pure garbage. If the earth has had 5 ice ages, how did it warm warm up last time? Did fairy dust do it?

Havilah Gold You are mostly right, except that humans have a huge stake in this deed, there are so many people, burning fossil fuels, via cars and large factories, not to mention deforestation, farming exhausts and so on, it is a highly unstable enforcer of the natural cycle of warming. It is way more unpredictable and extreme these modern climate changes than the past calmer cyclic climate changes, such that we and other animals cannot adapt to them. That's why it's a big problem.

shima There is not a single scientist in existence that claims climate change to be 100% man-made. People like you exaggerating the facts are why people like Havilah Gold exist
