Ali Abdullah Shab, 26, is one of more than 150 members of the Cowboys Club or known as the Cowboys in Bahrain.
This American culture found a home in the Budaiya village in Bahrain, where young horse lovers gather to ride horses and do many activities inspired by the Western Cowboys culture, on top of which are rodeo competitions.
We went to Bahrain to meet these young people who are brought together by brothers of a special kind, to find out the reasons for their fondness for this culture.

The gringos adopted the way of life because that’s how you survived in the desert. Spanish people were no strangers to dry/hot climates being so close to Northern Africa and all. They brought their guitaras, vacas, and caballos. The indigenous folk also input some of their traditional crafts, Adobe/stone structures, food etc...

I find it interesting when people from other countries find our American western cowboy culture so interesting. Its like it's universal, to want to be a cowboy, or that old western ethos is so attractive to all minds. Probably due to the sense of wild nature and freedom from the lifestyle and landscapes. That German author who wrote books on westerns is an example.
