A wave of mass protests hit Israel over the past few years in response to police killings and harassment of Ethiopian Israelis. But the community isn’t just fighting police brutality. They’re also fighting for acceptance as Black Jews in the world’s only Jewish state. VICE News explores the community’s complicated relationship with race, religion and identity as the landmark trial of a police officer charged with killing a young Ethiopian Israeli unfolds.

As a black man in America, I see thay we are hated all over the world, but yet non of the haters have enough courage to explain their hate. As for myself, I wouldnt want to be anyother race but black. Once we all realize that conversation is not how we ended up in this situation, so conversation is not going to male us equal.... 13% of the population. 50% of the violent criminals. I've seen Black people fleeing Black neighbourhoods to move in to the safer White/Asian neighborhoods, only to start robbing and attacking the locals. We try our best to accommodate and be respectful to you, but we always end up regretting it. If you can be law abiding and peaceful, and stay away from White/Asian women (Sex is territorial), I guarantee racism will end.

I found this conversation in interviews very interesting but I do believe at 70 years old that it's time for us to make some changes in the political arenas and developing our own businesses to compete with and raise up black society. In the neighborhood I grew up in New York we have black businesses black barber shops and they were all taking over my wife's and other cultures to move us out so I think it's time for us to begin our own political party and restart our own businesses and fight to make sure that it stays in place. If you look at politics and business now today nothing is supporting the Black culture, and our young children today don't know that we had great inventors great businessmen that help this country to be as great as it is.

I feel your comment and I was also born and raised in BK from Flatbush at first and now in Mill Basin for the last 18 years. My dad and uncle came to NYC in 82 with very little resources and zero English language knowledge from a mountain village in PK. Their passports and tickets were all funded on loans from the Pakistani travel agent .. they held our family village home as collateral until the loan was repaid by my dad. They went against the odds and thru sheer hard work, dedication, prayer and some good fortune .. they built a damn good family life here. They have owned and operated neighborhood convience stores/bodegas and a couple gas station combos over the years across queens, bk and briefly the Bronx. We are still in that business and we have always run it as a local store for the ppl living locally on those few blocks . From as soon as he knew regular customers names, he was givin out store credit even when he couldn't afford it to start with. Most of the customers are local black snd Hispanic ppl that have lived there for multiple generations. My family bought both our first stores from Chinese ppl, and we heard so so so many times by all kinds ppl that they were totally different. They didnt want anything to do with local ppl, no credit, no convo, just no showing love overall .. it was all Business for them, the whole thing was just a transaction to them .. my dad taught me from day one .. your here to provide locals with service, you do your best for them as they not only keep our doors open and allow us to earn Decent money but your doing what's right in the eyes of God for group of ppl with less resources. I'm sure there are plenty cool chinese store owners and shitty Pakistani owners but I just speak from what I've seen, heard snd lived thru myself. We are part of the community here and our east new york store is on a high crime block by in 20 plus years we never been robbed or bothered... Nezt door thr viet nail salon been robbed four times that I remember. Anybody even tryna start issues wit us or in the store get shut down and moved on by lifelong hug the block certified shooter type guys who are always just outside on the corner. Those same guys kno when police pull up they can run in store and put their pistol or pack into the dumpster out back and i ain't see nothing and camera broken .. goes both ways

They also don't know that their history was hidden on purpose. African Americans are the decendents ancient Europeans, they have their ancesters surname. Check out Dante Fortson. Also when Christopher Columbus got to the America's his report was they look like Ethiopians. Dane Calloway Has researched this fully. The books that were hidden are being brought forward the real history of the renamed African American. Look and see if your surname has a coat of arms or family crest.

We need to stop relying on the government, Corporate America, and the state funded education system assist black Americans and do for self. Fight for government dollars to build our own schools, educate our own kids, create our own businesses, use of votes to put a candidate that supports our needs and views. Actually "America" as a newly formed governing entity is a new country. All of the other "Nations" are much older with a sense of preservation for the oldest people's who made up the commonwealth there. There's a struggle for maintaining preservation of their bloodlines because they do not want to forget who they are and where their families came from with sooo much distance made by time and by expansion as well into modern societies. We see there is a growing concern with the Muslim population in France. And so the same here especially for the original Hebrew people who occupy the promised land Israel! The black African population in Israel is a stark concern and I believe there was a news that came out a while ago about the Israeli government deporting black so-called Israelites from their nation because of this extremism of forcing this being part of something else, that fills a big hole. When you're empty and just want to be accepted. People don't do that. That's not how respect works. Respect for yourself and where you come from. You can't just go somewhere like Spain and just start identifying yourself as Spanish now. These are older countries. It's not the same I reiterate as being a citizen in America. It's not the same.
