VICKERS VC10 AT WADDNGTON AIRSHOW 2013 - THE FINAL VISIT (airshowvision)

11 жыл бұрынHere is footage from airshowvision of the final visit to the Waddington Airshow of the Royal Air Force Vickers VC10 aircraft before it's retirement.
I understand this example is destined to be a permanent ground exhibit at the RAF Cosford Museum - NOT!
It was delivered to Bruntingthorpe as an exhibit on 29th July 2013.

Just love that reverse thrust! We lived 20 miles from the airport in Lusaka and when the VC10 landed, we could hear it! Just love everything about these beauties.

What a beauty the VC10 is I love having 808 just down the road at Cosford visit her every time I can, miss hearing the Conways at 6am on a Monday shaking the house walls at BZN.

FANTASTIC VIDEO & SOUND OF THIS LEGENDARY AIRCRAFT!!! 👌🤩👌 Have seen this VC-10 once at NATO Days 2010 at Ostrava Airport in Czech Rep. Also great catch at 1:10 with the Avro Vulcan on the background. Double Thumbs Up !! 👍👍

@@airshowvision You are absolutely right. Another bad news is that the Vulcan XH558 will have to leave Doncaster Airport and will no longer be making taxi runs. Also the last airworthy Breguet Br-1050 Alize and the last flying Mirage III in europe has been grounded forever. The Blades and Yakovlev aerobatic team were disbanded too. Very sad. ://

@@knightflightvideo Our local MP is still fighting to get the airport back up and running and stop Peel Aviation from doing other stuff there, so if it all works out she may be able to stay long term, but the future is bleak for the taxi runs I think

Yes people your eyes do not deceive you.This is a British designed and built passenger aircraft that was very fast indeed.

Why only thrust reversers on outboard engines?

Apparently on the ‘Standard’ VC10 the inboard thrust reversers created severe buffeting to the horizontal stabiliser. Not wanting to induce structural damage through fatigue the inboard reversers were deleted. The ‘Super’ VC10 engine nacelles were redesigned, being moved outbound by 11”, repositioning them sufficiently to reintroduce the inboard reversers.

@@GeorgeMCMLIX Thanks for the information. Still the Super VC 10 also had only one reverser per side. I have an 86 inch long SUPER VC 10, BOAC model airplane made in Britain.
