So rare a person with working ears! Can't tell you how many times I've been accused of using autotune, when it's just one take performances! 👊

@@vickypsarakis Your so good people think your tuning your vocals. I am very curious. Do you have perfect pitch? Or just incredible relative pitch. I hear singers like Jack Black (who never tunes his vocals) and Maynard (who did not tune his vocals at least for the first few Tool albums.) And I always wonder if you gave to have perfect pitch to sing so precisely. I have analised the vocals of many great singers like Layne Staley and others and I can find notes that are completely out of tune. My conclusion is that a great singer sounds great even when the note is not perfect. Style, execution, tone, emotion trumps intonation.

@@mentalprogram5256 I don't have perfect pitch, just very good relative pitch :) Contrary to popular belief, having perfect pitch doesn't automatically mean you're always going to sing in key. Where it helps is realizing when you're off and by how much, but all vocal techniques are reliant on your body/vocal folds etc, so even if you can identify the problems it doesn't necessarily mean you can fix them... if that makes sense? And you're right, being a great vocalist is hardly only about pitch. So many other factors in there... color/tone, emotion, dynamics, inflection etc. It's about how you hit the notes and travel from note to note in your delivery. That's why I'm very much against auto-tune, cause it pretty much squashes a lot of those characteristics and makes everyone sound the same.

@@vickypsarakis I have been working hard trying to learn to sing at 48 years old. Only two years in. Quite a struggle. I believe you may have taught me somthing already. "How you travel from one note to the next" I am going to work on that.
