Victor Borge in Concert at Grand Hall Wembly with Wren Orchestra from early 1980s (1983 I believe). Very funny guy and performance if you haven't seen this before.

What a voice she has. Amazing. X

She left a comment on another website just a couple of months ago to say that she is still singing. She has a church singer's job in the USA apparently. It is a crystal clear coloratura voice. Beautiful.

@@Tenortalker I don't mind her singing in a church as long as they don't lay their hands on her coloratura.

He's that one in a billion kind of artist that does not fold under pressure. I mean, the risks he takes live, the pressure, he makes it look easy.

There was no one like him then, there's been no one since. This particular 'concert' was pure and simple genius by two brilliant and talented musicians. Sadly missed - R.I.P. Victor x

Some French and Italian names and place names sound quite glamorous (for example Baton Rouge) but when translated to English, not so good.

When he pulls the belt out of the stool after falling off is one of my favourite of his gags! Just the way he huffs and matter of factly throws out the two halves of the belt.

You know, it would've been great if someone could've gotten Peter Shickele, Anna Russell, and Victor Borge together in one concert before the latter two passed away.

Does anyone remember the episode of him introducing the Denmark , or maybe the Copenhagen Symphony, when every player in the orchestra was HIM, in disguise, and finally even the Conductor. It's really old but I remember laughing til I cried.

@georgealderson44245 жыл бұрын
He was saying that his neighbour had been given an electric heart pacemaker which also opened his garage door and if the neighbour had been at the concert the shock of the lady's singing would have made his pacemaker work all the time. I am not sure I have helped you to umderstand the joke but I hope so
Jogreen to you ? What does that mean ? I don't understand what he's saying at that moment, can someone tell me about that?

Peter Maffay He is translating the name Giuseppe Verdi from Italian to English, Joe Green =).
@MrRtoman6 жыл бұрын
giuseppe verdi in english is joseph green
@tombradshaw51645 жыл бұрын
The Italian name Giuseppe is the equivalent of Joe in English. The verdi bit comes from the word verdigris. Verdigris is a bright bluish-green encrustation or patina which forms on copper or brass as a result of atmospheric oxidation. Hence Giuseppe Verdi/ Joe Green. EASY!
@acousticsong-guitarco9644 жыл бұрын
