Rex, my compliments on the term "muscular common sense." A grand slam in the traditional sense as it encompasses the concept of cleaning all the bases. VDH free online courses at Hillsdale are never lacking for insight and I suspect much comes from his working a farm and knowing that the mind compliments the physical; Bravo.

And that's why the country is in so much trouble. Its fake conservatives like academic hack such as VDH that have done the US so much damage over the last 75 years. He should get off the stage and invite America to find a true conservative to speak. My guess is that will be a vanishingly small number indeed.

@@raygiguette8677 I don't think he's dumb, just very dishonest. And he doesn't mind lining his pockets while he gives his fake "pro-American" spiel. I think that that's the problem with the so called "right". They are so grateful someone remotely SOUNDS like they sympathise with their position they lap up the BS shovelled by people like VDH. Its quite pathetic in a sad way.

As was pointed out here, corruption of language is one of the principle weapons of "leftists." For example, it is the main reason many people confuse "liberals" with "leftists" when they are not at all similar. Denis Prager has made clear the the differences that he identifies, and why the classical liberal has much in common with today's "conservatives." Understanding "the left," and their manipulation of language, is one of the keys to begin thinking more clearly about the complex issues of today. VDH has been included in my list of "top 10 thinkers" (including Thomas Sowell, Denis Prager, Neal Postman, Alfred Korzybski, etc.) for a long while. The term "top 10 thinkers" is, of course, a euphemism for a list of much greater length, many of whom are not available online... LOL!
@hughmac13
@hughmac13 2 жыл бұрын
Would you mind providing some examples of the "manipulation of language" that you describe?
@omarpancoast2266
@omarpancoast2266 2 жыл бұрын
@@hughmac13 This is a vast subject that was recognized and brought into public awareness almost a century ago as Alfred Korzybski, and others, became more aware how socialist and communist activists and dictators, etc. were adopting/had adopted propaganda strategies used by some Americans since our 'Civil War'. These developments were part of the impetus for Korzybski's development of the theories which led to the formulation of his 'general-semantics' in the 1920s and '30s. More recently, thinkers and authors such as Thomas Sowell, Neil Postman, Dinesh D'Souza, etc. have provided more numerous examples than I can possibly detail in this limited forum. The language of 'identity politics,' the 'Progressive' Left, 'social justice,' political 'correctness,' etc. is constructed with the deliberate confusion of the 'orders of abstractions,' and other errors identified by Korzybski in his works so as to confuse and manipulate the public in various ways. I urge you to do your own research if you are willing to spend the time.
@hughmac13

@@omarpancoast2266 I'm asking you to substantiate your claims. You're commenting on a video, obviously, and you mentioned "the complex issues of today," so presumably what you're referring to is relevant to both. Also presumably, you've already done "your own research" if you're willing to make such statements. So I remain curious about concrete examples of what you're describing.

I'm very sorry. If you're unwilling to look at Rogan's interview with Dr. Malone or read the authors I mentioned (Korzybski, Sowell, etc.), then I'm afraid I can't help you. As the old saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink." Perhaps you can check out the Hillsdale College lectures, Hoover Institution videos or 5 minute videos from PragerU (short, but usually well referenced introductions to a variety of subjects). No one can do your learning for you.

There are some here who disparage VDH an even call him a traitor. They forget he is a scholar but also had relatives that have their life fighting for this country. Also a farmer who worked the land. He understands the hard working Hispanic an Black. Also the working white. The various tradesman. A lot of these are on the same page as the so called Maga people who are mainly hard working people who want to take care of their family. The Big Hedge Funds BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street who are behind globalism. They own parts of 1600 companies globally. Some of the biggest in the world. Such as ExxonMobil where they own the majority of the stock. XOM just reported 32 billion in profits in recent quarter. Now they own 90% of media. The New York Times, CNN, CNBC, Disney, etc, etc. The Energy Secretary is from this entity. She was a contributor to CNN, CNBC. Now she is the Energy Secretary where 17 of her officials own stock in XOM. 15 own stock in both Chevron an XOM. Larry Fink is a loyal Democrat and proponent of rise of China. Big investments there. They are in control of many State Pension Funds. Using the American people's money basically against them in investments an woke policies. They killed financing to Frackers an Independent Oil Producers. Biden killed permits, an leasing on his end via his Energy Secretary who was past employee. Get the picture. They are Biden's puppeteers. He killed Keystone Pipeline to help move Oil from Canada. We received 51% of our Oil from them. Yet lifted sanctions on Chevron. Why? A big donor to Biden an Democratic party is none other than Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway who acquired majority of stock in Chevron. Wow. You reckon it's why Granholm people acquired stock ? Hmm!. Now they have figured out how to win these elections. Picked the dumbest of all the contenders in Primary. Biden an Harris. They control 20 trillion in funds. Almost as much as total GDP of USA. Sit in basement Joe. We got this. Wake up America. Wake up people. The Big elites are using you.
