I think the thing I love most about Victor Wooten is the spirit of joy he has whenever he's playing music. He's in his "element," and fulfilling what it is he was meant to do.

There is talent and then there is talent + commitment... and then there is both of the latter + soul and the will to share and inspire others = Victor Wooten
@donsimons98103 жыл бұрын
Nah, it’s not that good. He’s a good percussive bassist but the actual melodies are what matters.. people always think their icon of choice is too brilliant to be fully appreciated
@matto97343 жыл бұрын
@@donsimons9810 Bass is part of the rhythm section in the 1st place, not a melody instrument... nowadays more and more players discover other paths to play the instrument and that´s fair but it´s not the center role. That said, a bass player should know the melody of every song and it´s core to support it and if needed and wanted to play a meaningful solo. It seems to me that you don´t know Victor Wooten very well - he is one of the most complete bass players and he covers almost every field there is with his playing...

And to think, just a few months ago, I'd never heard of Victor Wooten. I listened to an except from Charles Berthoud's rendition of Barbie Girl from Victor Wooten, and was hooked on the bass guitar. Can't stop listening to Charles Berthoud, and Victor Wooten. Victor Wooten bass guitar should be a musical genre all its own. His playing skill, and creativity is so fine!
