The two defects of the Swisstool Spirit are the scissors' small gap, which makes them inefficient, and the non-removable wire cutter.
It is high time that Victorinox presents a new multifontion pliers instead of doing coloring on his swiss knives!
Les deux défauts du Swisstool Spirit sont le faible écartement des ciseaux, ce qui les rend peu performants, et le coupe-câble non amovible.

@@diezelle57 What ever is convenient. I am very fond of the Victorinox switch to liner locks on the bigger models. Though I have never had a side slide-lock failure.

Spirit did not pass your steel wire test :P but overall it was very good. Scissors are open to discussion :) BTW , a multi-purpose hook showing that someone finally came out. I use this tool especially for camping activities; Take out the tent stakes ,untie knots, carry the hot pot.. This tool is also available for like victorinox hunstman ,explorer etc. Thanks for video.

Diezelli Next time in review please try out those fold out Phillips screw drivers of bit size neither precisely #1 or #2. Thay are design that way to let one tool bit can do both size #1 and #2. So remember to test it with #1 and #2 size screws. Tools with poor design and execution can’t handle two size with single bit size.

The Swisstool Spirit is lighter and less bulky, prettier. Swisstool or Swisstool Spirit, you must choose a Plus version which includes the accessories. With the Swisstool Spirit, you have the choice between a pointed or unpointed knife blade.

C'est l'un des meilleurs et je découplage des outils (dans les versions PLUS) le rend très versatile. Disons qu'il rivalise avec le Leatherman Wave ou Charge (pour rester dans le même format de multi-tools).

Hi, i just bought the spirit.I would like to ask you if your spirit has a little gap of the wire cutter when the pliers are closed? This gap is on the first of two cutter and it is like 0,1mm .

If you know, can you explain the pros and cons of wire cutters that pass each other like a scissor, and wire cutters that meet edge to edge? All power cutters at my workplace use the edge to edge-style, but all my leathermans use the scissors style. They dont feel as good.

Le problème est que si le coupe-câble est abîmé (métal écrasé lors de la coupe de fil très dur), il n'y a plus rien à faire, d'où l'intérêt d'un coupe-câble amovible. L'autre problème du coupe-câble du Swisstool est qu'il est court et alvéolé ce qui ne permet pas de couper (ou de couper rapidement) des objets de plus grande largeur.

@@diezelle57 Il me semble que vous devez simplement utiliser l'outil à bon escient et que les fabricants doivent spécifier l'utilisation des chapelles. Dans certains cas, je pense qu'il est préférable de couper un câble épais avec une scie à métaux plutôt que de casser la pince. Même des pinces plus puissantes ont leurs limites, par exemple, engineer PZ-59 a un diamètre de 3,2 pour le fil d'acier. engineertool.wixsite.com/engineerintl/pz59 Un câble en acier d'un diamètre de 2,6 mm est une tâche très difficile. Je suis d’accord avec vous pour ce qui est de la taille de la pince, mais j’estime qu’il ne s’agit pas d’un grave inconvénient, mais seulement d’un câble épais qui mord deux fois. @@CruelD0G Ce n'est pas à moi que vous allez expliquer qu'il faut utiliser les multi-tools à bon escient ! :) Les seuls multi-tools qui coupent correctement des câbles d'acier multibrins sont les Leatherman MUT EOD et Super Tool EOD et ces derniers sont équipés d'un coupe-câble amovible ! :) "Hard test" : c'est ce qu'on m'a demandé de faire dans le cadre de mon MT VOD. Il se trouve que, dans certains cas, on soit obligé d'utiliser un multi-tool à ses limites en l'absence d'autres outils. Mais il est évident qu'on peut demander à un multi-tool de couper des clous ou des fils durs et il me paraît alors clair qu'il vaut mieux que le coupe-câble soit amovible, la fonction de coupe étant alors prolongée. Je connais bien ces pinces Engineer, j'en ai fait une revue : pour du câble d'acier, rien de mieux qu'une pince coupante Knipex (voir la revue sur ma chaîne, section Tools). Je ne dis pas que l'alvéolage des profils du coupe-câble soit un "gros" problème mais c'est tout de même gênant. Les coupe-câbles des Rev, Wingman et Sidekick sont médiocres à très médiocres, il est vrai. Merci pour votre compliment, il me fait très plaisir ! :)

Great video, i wish to see the same Hard test in the Swisstool X, i Know they are similar, but i think the swisstool x is better.

The essential difference is at the level of the pliers which is thicker than that of the Spirit; for example better torsion holding.

Hey there how ya doing? It’s me again. I was wondering if you know if there’s an extender tool that you can get for the Victorinox cybertool L that will let you use the standard 1/4” bits? Also since I would argue that you’re the absolute expert on multitools which do you think is better, the Leatherman surge or the Swiss Army Tool Spirit? Lastly is there anyway you could make a short video showing all of your multitools & accessories for them? I would love to see your whole collection. I can’t imagine where you would even put all of them and do you use them all? I wouldn’t be able to decide which one to use especially having multiple ones of the same model. You obviously love multitools even more than I do. I don’t go anywhere without both my cybertool & surge. I use them everyday because they are especially helpful for the disabled. Anyway as always thank you for your great videos and your knowledge and for responding to my questions. Take care.

Hi! :) - No, there is no way to use standard bits (6.4 mm) on the Victorinox Cybertool. - The Leatherman Surge is more like the Victorinox Swisstool, not the Swisstool Spirit. Anyway, I recommend Surge or Charge+ (compared to Spirit). - Thank you for your compliment:) Show all my multi-tools in one video? It would require a great deal of preparation and I doubt that the parade, necessarily very long, of various and varied multi-tools could be edifying. Might as well scroll my videos automatically in my playlist! :) - Once again, thank you for enjoying my videos and I send you my best thoughts.

It’s great that someone of your skill & knowledge is kind enough to take the time to does for all of us and especially taking the time out of your day to quickly reply to us who don’t have the knowledge you do. @@diezelle57 I agree Diezelle I am a leatherman product lover also Victorinox and we are not putting in question the quality of the steel but talking about functionality you can tell a superior advantage from Leatherman over Victorinox in some models.

If some one from Victorinox is reading, you guys have to upgrade your multitools for example repleable wire cutters, your models are outdated and is clear if you want to play this game will be necessary to hire engineers to keep going, otherwise you will be depending on your name that eventually will go down when people realize are better options in the market, Leatherman for example.

The scissors are a great disappointment. For a larger multitool there is only 13mm blade length. The SOG Powerpint has 17mm scissor blades, and the Gerber Armbar has scissor blades 27mm long, the same as the LM Juice S2. They could have added 5mm to the blade length; there is enough clearance in the frame for this, but even so, they would be too small. I have split a few nails trying to open the tools, with their old-fashioned nail nicks. It has a great tool selection, but, for me, definitely not an EDC item.

Bonjour, avez-vous essayé d'utiliser la pince sans gants? Il m'arrive que s'il est utilisé en continu et avec effort, il marque la paume de ma main. Je pense que c'est parce que le ressort du reste des outils intégrés dans le multitool a des bords très agressifs, avec une finition très nette, si vous exécutez votre doigt, il est parfaitement perceptible qu'il provoque des frottements excessifs. Qu'est-ce que tu penses? (désolé pour mon français j'ai utilisé le traducteur google jeje) Saludos desde España

Je trouve cette pince confortable. Il est normal en raison de l'épaisseur des manches qu'un effort continu peut marquer la main, c'est le cas pour toutes les pinces multifonctions. Il faut évidemment que l'intérieur de la main ne vienne pas en contact avec les déverrouilleurs. Bonjour.

@@diezelle57 Oui, mais je pense que la vente aux enchères des bloqueurs des outils pourrait s'accompagner de la vente aux enchères des terminaisons les moins agressives sans cesser de remplir sa fonction. Je pense limer un peu de ces bords extérieurs des serrures pour résoudre le problème, je ne pense pas que cela influence sa fonction.

Look like the pliers of swisstool X more power!!! I have leatherman surge 2 months ago and its really great cause its can remove the pliers now i’m looking for a Victorinox swisstool X but i’m worry about the pliers of Vic because its can not remove :( and if i try to cut something harder, stronger i afraid the pilers will broken then we cant change another pliers

J'ai un jeu très très faible, insignifiant. Mais tout dépend des efforts que la pince a subi, le jeu peut naturellement s'accroître.

Pour moi le vrai gros défaut du swisstool, c est le manque d ouverture à une main des lames.. Avec les mains froides et trempées, c'est une horreur à ouvrir. Sinon,en utilisation courante et urbaine, c est un tool merveilleux,mon préféré. Les finitions,la qualité perçue. J adore. Malgré tout, j ai un leatherman wave sur moi, plus "facile" , même si moins beau et qualitatif.
