The opponent tripped on him. There is no intention to be unsportive or to provoce in any way. The throw is reckless to me. More force is needed to be regarded as excessive force there. Intentionally throwing the ball isn’t automatically a red card offence. Page 108 says that when throwing a ball it can be reckless or excessive force. Had it hit the face it would be a straight red card because of where it hit, no question about that.

3:44. It's just tape to protect earring holes. He wasn't wearing earrings. 5:21 could give a yellow to the blue player. The red player didn't do much after the foul itself. As a ref you need to find a balance in a game. Those aren't mandatory yellow cards in my opinion considering the situation and nature of the game.
