Thanks very much. The spearmen are totally awesome and fun to paint. The veteran guys are a bit of a slog. Watch out basing them too. A little difficult to get everyone to rank up well.

Thanks and you're 100% correct. I'm even thinking of experimenting with some off-white colors to see how it might change some final results.

Thanks, Cal. It was a banner year for me in that regard. Not being able to go anywhere and the 2 months I got to stay home everyday really helped pump up those numbers. I finished some figures this morning so I've already started this year's ledger.

Happy anniversary, make sure you buy some kits from the nerd mall. 553 is a big number, i don t have that many painted in total, would be fun to keep track on myself also. The libians look very nice, i like the details on the mail skirt, and pro painted faces especially the middle guy, good luck at freehand those shields, i guess you have to do some free hand down on the elefant cloth/saddle. Maybe you can do a final edges highlight on the elefant to pop even more, maybe add another spear man on theother side, of the base looks kinda empty. Great stuff, makes me wana take a brake from germans and paint Hannibal stuff...or no. :))

Thanks, Mate. I bought some trees as I have to re-do my trees and re base them. I didn't buy anything at the nerd mall as 1/2 the shops were closed. I couldn't believe it. I think with the second elephant I'm going to do something about that giant seam down the elephant's head. I might put 2 spear guys on that base too. Now I'm just concentrating on the Libyan Spearmen.

A Carthaginian army? I approve :) Looks awesome mate, good detail too. If you want to learn more about Carthage´s war machine, check the book by Dexter Hoyos "Carthage´s other wars". I am halfway through it now and it brought a few new things to my attention. Painting figures in their hundreds in this quality is nuts, my respect for that!

Thanks, Leon. Yes, the first transfers seem to go pear shaped for a lot of people. We had a good time in Tokyo, but realized we were now "old" as all the places that used to be fun for us weren't any longer.

Thank you. Yeah, I'm slowly getting into ancients as I've entered the final stretch of World War II. Like, do I really need another German Army even though I have like 10? Yes, I do lol but I can start branching out and do other stuff that is fun. The Ancients period that's the most appealing for me now is maybe from Alexander up to about Claudius. I've been watch I Claudius on KZfaq as a background. Been loving it.

It was actually disappointing as half the places were closed. But I did buy some trees at the hobby dojo in Shinjuku and a great reference book for $10 at a militaria shop.
