Tracking down why one of my victron multi plus units is not charging. I turned on the charger and it was not charging my batteries. I turned the other one to charge mode and it worked fine.

Must be a day for electrical issues. Fuel pump issues and its taking me all over my 1996 bronco.. Got to head home and lick my wounds. Started raining in Tampa.... I hope I can get this thing started before the new year.. My timelines are changing lol... Good luck on the hunt!

In Ohio that would be rusted ground wire connections, I know Fla has salt problems closer to the water esp boat launching.

Are there any GFCI's in the system? I had a flaky GFCI that I had to replace on my central A/C system. It kept the blower fan from running. The compressor and outside unit runs on 220/240 but the inside blower runs on 120. They ran power for the inside blower off a GFCI that's normally used for the back porch outlets.

It looked like on the collar of one of the yellow cables, the black insulation of the cable was not inserted into the collar, possibly letting in moisture??? I would check the other end of the cable to see if the power made it through to there also. Take care! Back issues suck.

And the other one was cracked. 220V cables in the open with bad plugs is a recipe for lethal disaster.

I have had to replace RV transfer switches for this very reason.

hey great video I see you have a moisture problem all plugs and Outlets outside should have a block of two by four on either one of them lifting them off the ground remove leaves and check often for condensation and moisture think about it in a micro scale the moisture creates static in your electricity which will create havoc on your electronics

If you're not running a generator maybe you should consider checking the transfer switch. That's what I did. The inverters have built-in transfer switches.

I could not follow - you said multiple times that there was 120V AC power input to one leg of an inverter but not the other. An inverter is DC to AC. I don't understand what kind of an inverter that is.

These units are inverter-chargers with their own internal transfer components. AC in from shore or genset can be passed through and used to charge batteries. If the external AC disappears, they start drawing DC from batteries instead of charging them and invert it to AC. An external transfer switch is used to select between the shorepower and the genset. It can be manual or automatic. On my bus it is automatic and defaults to shorepower but switches when it detects voltage from the genset. A separate component provides automatic genset starting. If if sees the shorepower disappear it starts the genset. Once the transfer switch sees the voltage from the genset, it waits 2’15” and then switches. Most automatic transfer switches do this to allow head pressure to bleed down on compressors (air or refrigerant). In the meantime, the inverter (if turned on) switches over almost instantly and makes AC from the batteries. When the external AC is once again available, the inverter switches back to pass-through mode and stops inverting. There are other ways this can be setup, however, including circuits that only get power from the inverter and require it be own for that to work.

It looks like the micrfied magneto on the frequency Boomer is not connected to the Digory do. I would buy a new bus ticler

I'm confused; yellow extension cable; is that from electric breaker? If so, 1 breaker ( of a double gang breaker) mught be tripped. Try to reset that 220 breaker. I notice cable plugs are all wet from rain. Protect and make sure it stays dry. Rain could short out one or both legs, and might be the cause of 1 breaker tripping, if it indeed has....simpl things are usualky the cause.....read troubleshooting guide that comes with literature of device. At last, in that paper work, get phone number, and ask to talk to a senior tech.....GOOD LUCK. ..!!!

My dad always says 220v and I always remind him it’s 240v. I’m just not sure who’s right.

Hobart will confuse further. They refer to this class as 230. Lol. My heat pump is rated 207-220 vac.

I the pass was 110 volt and 220 volt Now 120 volt and 240 volt Pust 277 volt, Some I may say 220 volt

Possible rodent attack ? I have a Mitsubishi heat pump for my shop. They somehow got inside the outside unit and fried on the 220 inverter board. 1200.00 dollar repair

The rodents were probably attracted to the soy-based insulation on the wiring. Mice got into my relative’s Corolla and chewed through some wires running to the left headlight and one of the ignition wires.

@@picklerix6162 A rabbit got into my one year old Camry Hybrid and chewed on wires while we were driving down the road. Luckily there isn't very much wiring in a hybrid..... (sarcasm) The dashboard lit up like a x-mas tree, so we diverted to the dealer. The rabbit lived.
