But actual shares are stored by Demat at cdsl and Nsdl. Then why is the risk with zeroda. The only risk will be the amount in the funds section which we add to buy the shares.

Now all brokers has to credit / debit the share from either CDSL / NSDL so no risk if bought and credited to respective DMat accounts. This is major change after Karvy episode. Thanks.
